The Adventures of Ulysses
My favorite quote from the book is ‘O Father Zeus.’
This is a book about ancient greece. It tells of the adventures and misadventures of Ulysses and his small fleet of ships. After taking the City of Troy, Ulysses is going back home. But on his voyage, he lands on islands where he looses or gains something. My favorite part in the book is when he tricks a giant into releasing him and his men, but when he was home free he started taunting the giant. that woul More...

I like this book because the book's genre has to do with Greek mythology. The main character Ulysses is a cool, calm and collected person. He stands up for his men and he doesn't take no for an anwser, also he is a very intellengent king. This book reminds me of the movie 300 and all the history about it. each time I read a chapter in this book that had to do with Ulysses being a brute force when he and his men fought someone or something reminded me of king Leonidas. Because he was a very stron More...

I had to skim a lot of this because we read it in a very short period of time. Add in the fact that I'm a procrastinator, and... yeah.

Ulysses is easy to read in terms of vocabulary and comprehension and whatnot. At the same time, it's very difficult to read because it's so horribly written. The writing style is basically as follows:

"Ulysses did this. Then he did this. He felt like this. Then he did this again."

There is absolutely no excitement whatso More...

One word: IT WAS AMAZING!!!... Wait... (Counting on fingers)... That's 3 words. Nevermind. I loved this book. But then again, I am a mythology geek. And because of that, not a lot of other people are. This book was descriptive, short, sweet, and the characters had life-like emotions. Ulysses was sometimes a jerk, and he was very confident in himself. Like the title says, the book focuses mainly on him. I recommend this book to fellow mythology geeks, and people who can read a lot of old words li More...

Like Journey to the Center of The Earth, this book is VERY adventurous. Ulysses, leader of the Greek army, sails home with his men after celebrating over the fight for Troy. Along the way, he will discover many foes that will kill/consume his men. In the end, Ulysses is the sole survivor of the crew that he promised to deliver back home safely...

I learned that 'every path you choose' has difficulties in them.

I liked this book because it's a fantasy book and there are many monsters in this book. My favorite chapter is Cyclop's cave because I really liked Ulysses's plan when he was trapped in the Cyclop's cave. His plan was to poke Cyclop's eye and wait under his sheep and when the Cyclop let the sheepe out, Ulsysses and his men will be able to get out. But I don't get why Ulysses told his real name later.

I think this book is better than The Iron Ring :D

ulysses was one of the worst books i have ever read. All it talked about was war, war,and more war. I think it would be better for a guy because their into action, but not for a girl.I gave it one star because it was boring. I was actually forced to read it as a grade. It was out of my hands, but i never want to read it again!!!!!

All he is, is greedy, and doesn't listen to warnings. He does as he pleases- Ullyssea. He is not a fully decribled charactor, and a waste of my time to read about. I would have put this book down right away, but I had to read it in school.

Anyone who likes Greek god, and crule adventure stories should read this.

An edited retelling of Homer's Odyssey in modern English. Most of the adventures are covered and this is a wonderful introduction to the "real thing" since having some background will enhance the understanding of Homer's original work. Better than Cliff Notes! Of course, nothing beats Homer's original.

As a leader of Greek, Ulysses is going to an adventure to help his country. Through all the adventures that he have to fight against to survive. As the adventures keep happening through that whole journey and most of the adventures are the same. It's bring the story into a boring book to read.

Ulysses was decent. It wasn't good but, it wasn't bad. All it was about was fighting, Ulysses would fight a monster in almost all every chapter. The book also ended really fast. They ended the book in like 1 chapter. It left alot of questions unanswered.Escpically at the end.

Even though I read this as an English assignment, it was pretty good! Ulysses' adventures bring action and history together. Good! A great movie to watch after reading this is The Odyssey, because the book is based on the book that Homer wrote, The Odyssey.

Non-stop action. My only complaint would be that the chapters were too short, making it feel condensed. I would have liked more "meat" in each of Ulysses's adventures. A fun read! Makes me want to reread Rick Riordan's "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series.

My grade seven English class spent over a term on this book, reading it and then adapting it into the world's most repetitive high school play. I never understood why the author chose "Ulysses" instead of "Odysseus."

The ADVENTURE of ULYSSES. It's just a fun book to read. The book is about an Greek warrior who travel around fighting monster with strategy and tricks. It's an enjoyable book, so I recommend this book to young readers.

I think this book was kinda good the way it reaches out to you in the story and near the end is kinda of heart warming because Ulysses finally in 20 years gets to see his son.

Ok so this book is prettty much the Oddyssy in book form (the original is a poem). It follows the adventures of Ulysses, king of Ithica on his perilous epic. After the Trojan War Ulysses must get back home to Ithica. Throughout his epic he encounters Polyphemus, the son of Posiden. Ulysses and his crew manage to get captured by this cyclops and outwitty him numerous times. This eventually leads to Posiden being very angry and trys to make Ulysses and his crew die. On Ulysses journy he also More...

This is a revision of a classic novel. It refers to many stories in Greek myths, including Circe and the Sirens. All in all, not a bad write up for a classic novel

At times this book was confussing but, some of the secnes were pretty interesting. I had to read it for 8th grade language arts. It would probly not be a book anyone would read if they were reading it on their own. Some people might really enjoy it. I just couldn't keep up with it all the time.
