This was really a rather wretched book. I read another book by this author that I actually enjoyed, so when I was able to pick this one up, I did so. Now I wish I'd left it where I found it. Sigh.

There was a little bit of interest regarding how to alter one's appearance and how to try and leave no trace of yourself in travel. But those spots of interest did not make up for the weak plot.

I liked this book for its varying POV narrations, its intricate plot, the extensiveness of plot (how the plot had several sections to it) and its epilogue. (Epilogues can be cheesy, but this one was very necessary!) Okay, sometimes the details given were too much (like what how they discarded papers they didn't need), and especially overly detailed sex-scenes that took the book from mystery/suspense to literary voyeurism (another word might work better here).(Aside: why don't books have rating...more

Audio version of this book is great. As usual Dick Hill and Joyce Bean both give brilliant performances portraying the characters.

Overall, I liked the story. I absolutely loved McCain. He was funny, somewhat sensitive, and very sexy. Lilly was also a very strong character and I loved that about her.

The storyline was very good with a few plot twists, but not over the top suspenseful. I have to say, I would have rated this as a 3 or a 3.5 if it weren't for the ending. It w...more

Sometimes it's ok to say no to books. Even when they are free. Because when you have them, and they are then taking up space on your bookshelves (or closet space in a box, as it is) you feel compelled to read them before you give them away to the next unsuspecting person.

Maybe that's just me. But I have got to quit saying "Sure Grandma!" when she gives me boxes of paperbacks.

Lilly is a hired assassin for the CIA, and has “gone off the reservation” (do secret agents really say things like that?) Now she has the CIA and some very-very bad guys out to get her. So, what does she do?? She trusts a total stranger who shows up in the middle of a shoot-out, lets him in on all her secrets, has sex with him, and falls in love.

Maybe I’m just tired of stories that portray women who are so starved for affection they act completely stupid.

And in spi...more

This book was reported to be best seller, and I can't understand how that happened. I thought it was very simplistic with a very corny love story. I didn't dislike it enough to quit reading it, but I sure didn't feel it was best-seller material!

2 mercenaries fall in love, though it seems as though one is charged with killing the other, and set off on a mission to stop an organization from capitalizing on spreading the Avian flu and it's vaccination.

Love how it's a perfect mix of romance and suspense. Perfect! My first book by Linda Howard and it got the ball rolling. One of my favourite books now. 5/5 stars.

Another light read with too much emphasis on sex and not enough on the cloak-and-dagger I had hoped to find.

This was s really good book, but then again, I really enjoy reading all of Linda Howard's books so far. In "Kiss me while I sleep", it's about a girl named Lilly, who is a hired assassin. I wasn't sure how I would like reading a book about assassination, but the way Linda Howard writes it was really good. There was a lot of mystery in it, and of course, some romance. Good read.

I had the CD's for this book. Linda Howard is great. The book is exciting and then there is usually an unexpected twist at the end. This book was no exception. Give this author a try if you have not read her before. If I could change anything in her books it would be to shorten the sex scenes that she writes. Too much for me, thanks!

This is the last book (so far) in the Medina series....but I don't know how she can call it part of the Medina series when he is only mention in one line on page 20. It was an okay book....but far from Linda Howard's normal high standard. I didn't love it but I can't say that is horrible either. it was just - Okay.

I was really surprised by this book. The hero and heroine weren't the typical Linda Howard characters, and I really appreciated it. I loved seeing the plans unfold during the course of the book, and the ending genuinely surprised me. It made me gasp aloud and tickled me pink because it was such a great ending.

This is a sexy book with a couple of nice twists. I would recommend it to older women none of my young friends. There are to many steamy details for young girls! But I enjoyed this story. It is about a women who is a hired asassin for the CIA and it out for revenge.
