2.75 stars, rounded up. I tend to like Jessica Steele novels for a change of pace from intense full-length romances. This one --- not so much. It begins with a loooong info dump. The hero, Ty, does not smile at or speak courteously to the heroine, Phinn, until 24% into the story. As Phinn so rightly exclaims, he's never the same two minutes in a row -- alternatively charming and beastly.

On the up side, I enjoyed some parts of this book -- especially the scenes involving Phinn and her horse Rosi

Just not my cuppa... Phinn's in a tough spot--she can't afford to pay the rent on the farm her family has lived as tenants, but she needs a place to live and to stable her beloved dying horse. Ty's the new landlord. Through a fortuitous (?) turn of events, he offers her a position as his younger brother's companion and a place to live. And despite themselves, they fall for each other.

The story felt very old school to me, with both characters exhibiting wild mood swings without much conversation,

I could hear Katy Perry's hot and cold played in the background. It is a fun book to read if you want an angst free book with an indecisive hero.
