Less scatological than Dav Pilkey's "Captain Underpants"

(Scholastic) but just as wacky, this fourth installment about Wilbur and Orville Riot is chock-full of goofy, good-natured fun. The brothers are distressed upon hearing they'll be spending the first few days of their summer vacation with their cousin Amelia. All fears are put to rest, however, when they di

Orville and Wilbur Riot are two brothers who never stop. Never stop talking, stop joking, stop hatching plans. Whether it's Pufferbelly Point Punt (popcorn table hockey) for breakfast or leading a lost mummy to the Egypt room at the museum, their exuberance, admiration for one another, and manic, funny antics are a hoot to read.
Colonel Mustard and I read this one together--and couldn't stop giggling. One of our favorite parts:

This was a cute book and I think very good for the younger elementary student. I found it a bit predictable and way too energetic. I would never babysit these kids...way too hyper!

The book is actually 3 stories in one, all related but can be read individually (but still in order). A girl cousin comes to visit from Kansas...will she be fun-or boring? It's cute but I prefer some of the other books out there.

I do really like the activities in the back of the book. I c...more

this is a Riot Brothers book. there is nothing else to say about how great it is.
Although it is very different from its predecessors, probably because A) 1-3 are staged during the school year, which sometimes is an obstacle and B) 1-3 Are during the winter and C) is the most significant, because it is the presence of Amelia E. Hart. plus, this isn't just a story. it's also a game guide because of the bonus section.

the latest in the uprorious series by mary amato. wilbur and orville riot are spit-take funny and sure to please graduates of captain underpants. bonus games and songs are included at the back of each book. a good chunk of the kids in my library are big riot brothers fans :)

Wilbur and Orville love making up games and having an adventure each day. When they are told their cousin Amelia will be visiting them for awhile they decide to see what kind of person she is. She turns the tables on their jokes and they like her immediately. They set out to solve mysteries and have fun from the beginning to the end of this book. I had a hard time getting into this book. Maybe if I were much younger I would have enjoyed it.

If your child liked the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, they will probably like the Riot Brothers.
