Rage of Angels is the one of the most compelling novels Sidney Sheldon has ever written, and Jennifer Parker, his heroine, his most extraordinary creation. Jennifer, the daughter of a small-town lawyer, joined the staff of the District Attorney of Manhattan, to fight for justice as her father had done. But less than twenty-four hours after being sworn in, Jennifer's hopes,...more

I read all Sidney’s stories, not including the last two books published. After knowing so many great books, I put Sidney Sheldon out of my priority.
But from all the book he (I thought it was a she) wrote, this one and Sand of Times is my favourite.
This book is about Jennifer (see, I still remember her name though I don’t have the book), a young lawyer who entered her career in a positive manner and optimism in her blood. But then many things happen and many people came along the way, that change...more

Ah, Sidney, Sidney... I always come back to you when I need a bit of a palate cleanser between loftier fare. You never fail to entertain me. This time, though, you didn't quite electrify me. I don't think this is one of your best works. It's got some absolutely terrific elements (two thumbs up for the kid's near crucifixion; ditto for his water skiing horror), but somehow it just doesn't quite scale the giddy heights of excess that 'The Other Side of Midnight' does so very, very well. But this i...more

Anatomy of a Sidney Sheldon read

Upon getting book from library: I have read so many serious books lately. It'll be fun to read Sheldon again. I loved Hart to Hart. Cannot wait.

Page 20: another virginal brilliant ingenue heroine? Oh well, at least this one is a lawyer

page 31: well, that's actually a plausible setup for her losing her job with the DA's office

page 104: seriously, she did NOT just turn to the jury in the middle of arguing a rule of judiciary evidence to deliver a lengthy soliloquy...more

In Goodreads, a five star rating means that the book was really amazing, but Rage of Angels was not just amazing, it completely blew me away. Every author is so keen on making the leading character, a living legend, that the tragedy is lost. But that is the only emotion that we can relate to best apart from love. Joy is individual, sorrow is universal. Sidney Sheldon has pushed his imagination to the extremes, and finally there is everything in this book that a book needs to be complete.

My First Sidney Sheldon and I fell in love.

The story never gave a hint that it would be such a heart breaking novel at the beginning at all.I had guessed that the trouble that had began for Jeniffer at the start of the story will be overcomed by her and she would have a beautiful happy ending.
Boy was i in for a Shock.
Conclusion : Never take for grated the happy ending for a story and be ready to have you own heart broken in pieces over it.

Beautifully written. Beautifully intensive.

This is another Sidney Sheldon novel that will take you off your seats, a real page-turner. A masterpiece. Another Phenomenon. If you remember his novel Nothing Lasts Forever where it revolves around an intelligent doctor, now, the Rage of Angels tells the story of a young brilliant lawyer and anything that goes around the courtrooms. Rage if Angels is filled with love, tragedy, and a woman with two men. One of them is a good (white) angel, another is a...more

I know this book was written in the early seventies and I tried really hard to keep that in context, but I just couldn't get past the rampant chauvanism this book was laden with. Sheldon tries to portray Jennifer Parker as a strong, independent woman but throughout the story, her life revolves around men! Her father dies of a broken heart after his wife's affair and subsequent abandonment...and his daughter proceeds to have not one but two relationships with married men! It just didn't jive. I f...more

This is the first Sidney Sheldon novel I've read, and I can now understand why he's so popular.

Jennifer Parker is on her first day of her new job working for the District Attorney's office in New York City, when she does something horrible. She takes a package from a man in the courtroom and delivers it to the witness. She thinks the man works for her boss, but she's wrong. And the package contains a dead canary. With his Mafia trial falling apart once the witness refuses to continue his testimo...more

I read this book when I was in college. I think I still have it. Smart lawyer lady (Jennifer) gets involved with mob guy (Michael Moretti...I just loved that name) when she enlists his help to find her illigimate son (Fathered by a powerful congressman)who has been kidnapped by a lunatic who blames her for mishandling his case.

In return for Moretti's help, she becomes involved in a relationship with him.........all the while still being in love with her son's Father (the senator).

It's good vs....more

As soon as I started reading this one, I couldn't put it down.

The story focuses on Jennifer, a young idealist lawyer from a small town who has moved to the big city to put away the bad guys. After a major, albeit innocent, mistake she is completely outcast from her prosecutor's office and struggles to stay in the city and become a top lawyer.

I don't want to spoil too much more then that. I had no idea what I was getting into when I read this one and enjoyed the ride. I will warn you that this is...more

The first book I read by Sidney Sheldon. I love learning about the dirty ways of the mafia and how much control they have over Brooklyn. If you like deception, seduction, and a freaking hot mafia leader, then you will go nuts for this books!

Crime, justice, sex, romance, family, love...
All you want when you read a book is already in this book. Sheldon was always successful to describe anything so clear and easy to understand/imagine.

He described crime like it is not as sinful as it sounds, he described justice like it's not just about law, he described sex and make me agree that sex has so many shadows, he described romance and make people like me think that romance can be sweet too, and he described family just as it is.

And he des...more

**HEAVY SPOILER ALERT**
Jessica Parker had been a lawyer all her life. Even before she became a lawyer, her dad seemed to have instilled in her qualities that made it seem obvious that she would become a lawyer. This story woven intricately by Sidney Sheldon describes her staggered lifestyle, varying between extreme conditions of happiness and sorrow; and one cannot help but revel in her joy and empathize with her during her times of grief.
The woman cared not for money or for the luxury that came...more

I found an old paperback copy of 'Rage of Angels' in the thrift store for 20 cents. A long time later out of boredom really I picked it up and I didn't put it down for two days. My first Sidney Sheldon experience was amazing.'Rage of Angels' starts out with a young fresh from law school,Jennifer in her first day on the job as an assistant district attorney in New York city. In a setup she botches key evidence in the case and the guilty mob boss defendant is set free. As a result she is fired and...more

After weeks and weeks of my friend persuading me to read. Sidney Sheldon books, I finally gave it a try :D It was around 2012 and before that I only read young adult books, and well educational books that I find interesting, he opened me up to the amazing world of books, all genres :p This book is the latest that I have read among all his books. And you have to be patient to wait for an available copy at the library (I can't afford atm because a lot of expenses at uni, but I promise you, I'm buy...more

Another triumph for Sidney Sheldon as he portrays once more, a strong woman character Jennifer parker, once on the verge of brokenness after being disembarred from the law firm (her dream of being lawyer), now enjoying the repute of one of the toughest lawyer in the state.

Jennifer's life is dominated by two men.....the protagonist is romantically torn between a famous politician, Adam Warner, on the way to Senator elections, who had helped her rise again from her law firm trauma and a Mafia boss,...more

My first Sidney Sheldon. The plot was good, the suspense...The characters felt real.Adam,I loathed.Adultery?Seriously?Nothing excuses that.Jennifer was strong but she was weak in her choice of men:first a married attorney then a married mobster?
Michael Moretti had so many faults that they were uncountable but he made the book come alive. He and Jennifer were a nice power couple, though twisted what with him being a criminal and married...

I loved this book. I have never read a movie before... I mean I have never read a book which gave me the impression that I was seated in a paperback cinema with my overactive mind's eye as the brilliant i max. I loved this book. Did I make that clear? Sidney has this unique style of delivery that I fell in love with ever since I got my hands on the first Sidney Sheldon book I ever read, The Stars Shine Down.
I loved (and still love) The Rage of Angels because of Jeniffer Parker. She is so woman:...more

ISBN 0446356611 - For me, this is not Sheldon's best effort, if only because Jennifer Parker, the main character, suffers from a lack of a life - and this is largely her life story. Still, even a book that's not his best is a very good book anyway!

Jennifer Parker passed the New York Bar Exam the first time. From there, it was going to be all good. She had a job working for the NY District Attorney, Robert Di Silva, and the idealistic outlook of a go-getter young lawyer. And then, suddenly, it ap...more

I love this book. Once this book was on my hand, I didn’t want to put it away. It was with me days and nights. I felt asleep reading it and in the morning, I would still find it, with page turned on where I left before involuntarily closing my eyes. This is the first book of Sidney Sheldon that made me cry. Once I started reading it, I was so deeply engrossed in it that I frequently lost the track of what’s happening around me. I wanted to finish it so quickly but at the same time, wished it wou...more

My Sidney Sheldon marathon continues; Rage of Angels is #4 in my summer series. I really liked this one. In classic Sheldon style, there is an amazing female heroine that defies all obstacles. Her name is Jennifer Parker, a fledgling attorney, who has just landed a job working for the district attorney of New York. She isn't on the job but one day, when her career is jepordized. She is the victim of a mob set-up in which is unknowingly used to upset a case against a renown ganster, Michael Morre...more

I'm a fan of Sidney Sheldon's work, and I'm an especially big fan of any of his heroines who are smart and clever. One of my all-time favorite books from my childhood is his book If Tomorrow Comes because the heroine, despite being beset by all kinds of bad breaks from bad guys, overcomes it all through cleverness and quick thinking, without being afraid to use her beauty, her unique skills, and her background to advantage.

Rage of Angels is a little bit like that book, excep...more

This is my first Sidney Sheldon book... would you believe it? Kudos to one of the famous storyteller for this awesome work.

But as I want to analyse it, I would like to compare his novel with some other eminent writers:

1.Style: I found style more or less like Dan Brown and Jeffery Archer, the former's way on emphasizing on information and facts with short chapters and interesting plot and the later's ways to play with all types human emotions

2.Plot: The plot is important aspect, the story line...more

I read this for the first time when I was very young. I remember being entranced by Jennifer Parker. I chanced upon this book in a second hand bookstore a week or two ago. 24 hours later I had completed about 400 of the 600 pages.

A disappointment.

Flimsy storytelling. Weak vocabulary. High on style but low on substance.

Still frothy and fun. And he does manage to squeeze some pathos out of some very uninspired writing. I read a chunk of this with some vodka last night and a heart string or two we...more

Rage of Angels is truly a page turner. Sheldon has given life to each and every character in a very unique way that touches the hearts of anyone who will read it. He had made the heroine, Jennifer Parker, an extraordinary woman, a woman of strength and courage for she has moved on regardless of everything she's been through.

It inspires the readers. Also,Sheldon has provided a strong contrast between Adam and Michael, the two important men in Jennifer's life that even the readers find it hard to...more

I'm reading through my long list of Kindle freebies, and this was another one. A friend of mine was crazy about Sidney Sheldon in high school, but I never read any of them for some reason. This was an interesting enough read, but it doesn't make me want to read more by Sheldon.

I liked the main character Jennifer, and I enjoyed seeing her overcome a variety of situations rather than give into them and walk away. I think I just need more happiness in a book to really love it, and poor Jennifer had...more

Was an American writer who won awards in three careers—a Broadway playwright, a Hollywood TV and movie screenwriter, and a best-selling novelist. His TV works spanned a 20-year period during which he created I Dream of Jeannie (1965-70), Hart to Hart (1979-84), and The Patty Duke Show (1963-66), but it was not until after he turned 50 and began writing best-selling novels such as Master of the Gam...more
