"Fain's first picture book is a heartwarming tribute to special childhood memories of schools closed due to winter storms. The text has a lyrical quality and beautiful imagery . . . set off by luminous oil illustrations. "Snow Day" will remain a favorite winter read-aloud for years to come".--"School Library Journal", starred review. Full color.

Snow Day tells the story of joy when a snow day sort of dismisses an extra homework assignment. Maggie was assigned a poem to write when she was caught passing notes, but when the nuns find Maggie playing in the snow the next day, her omission is found out.

Illustrations are a little creepy.

Used for "Snowy Things" storytime-01/2010.
Cute story about a little girl who just can't seem to get to her homework and some nuns who show that they can have fun too. I know I'll give this one away - just need to figure out to who???
