I JUST GOT THIS DVD FOR CHRISTMAS AND HAVE REALLY ENJOYED IT.
ITS A MUSICAL MADE IN 1992 BUT SET 1899 IN NEW YORK WHEN THE NEWSIES (BOY THAT SELL PAPERS) WENT ON STRIKE BECAUSE THE PAPER COMPANY IS RASING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THE NEWSIES HAVE TO PAY IN ORDER FOR THEM TO BUY THE PAPERS THEY NEED TO SELL.
MY FOUR FAVORITE SONGS IN THIS MOVIE ARE...
-CARRYING IN THE BANNER
-SEZIE THE DAY
-KING OF NEW YORK
-THE WORLD WILL KNOW

Look, I don't care that Newsies is just a piece of melodramatic fluff with sort of dumb-sounding lyrics...laugh at the plotline all you want, but I still like the music! It gets me hyped up...lots of power chords...mixed with 1920's jazz...mmmm...

For any person who grew up when the film adaptation was made will how great this movies was. It's not the best musical ever made, but tell me one person who didn't love Newsies back in the day.

NEWSIES IS OFFICIALLY THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!IT IS AWESOME!!!!!WHO DOESN'T LOVE NEWSIES??!!!!Don't listen to briana's bad reviews except. For the part about cool music. Everthing else is cool also though. YAY!!!!!!CARRYING THE BANNER as dave would say (Then Jack smirks at him).

Guys who can sing and dance and who look good, too? Every young girl fell in love with this musical. And the songs were really fun, too. They're also hard for me to play.
