The Patterson Puppies know a monster when they hear one. When their youngest sister Petra can't sleep because of the monster she knows is out there, her siblings set out on a quest to get rid of the monster. A fun story that helps dispel the fear of monsters in the dark, this adventure book engages children and keeps them guessing right up until the end!

This book is great to use with children to talk about things that scare them. An activity that could be done with this book would be for childre
This is a great book to teach about problem solving, the sibling try to offer solutions to help their sister feel safe. They also try cookies to help keep the monsters at bay. You can also introduce division. The monster has sixteen stuffed animals with four in each arm. How many arms does he have? This is also great for students who are trying to overcome their fears.
Petra is...well...petrified by the thought of monsters. While her brothers and sister sleep, she hears noises and insists that there is a monster. Nobody believes her until...! This is a good lesson on acceptance and being empathetic to others.
Petra Patterson is afraid of monsters. Little does she know that monsters are afraid of her!
