^^LIE TO ME BABY!^^

4.5

Man how I enjoyed this book, it was action packed and down right awesome sauce. I am in love with that blue haired devil called Gideon. The Mr sexy, keeper of lies, which means he has to speak lies instead of truth. So everything he says means the complete opposite. He just met the keeper of nightmares and she is saying that they were married and shared a son, but Gideon can’t remember a thing but he knows this woman, he yearns for this woman.

So the lords are still fightin...more

Neden, neden, neden bu kitap altıncı sırada. Dört kitap daha nasıl sabredeceğim senin ağzından dökülen yalanları dinlenmek için Gideon?

Just give this book 5 stars. I don't know why this book not "touch" me like The Darkest Passion. But its still have a great story

So, Gideon is Keeper of Lies. One day, there is a woman, her name is Scarlet, told him that she is his wife. But Gideon never remember when they are married and why they are now life separated. He can't detect any lie in Scarlet too.

Scarlet is the Keeper of Nightmare, she can unleashed the nightmare in everyone dream. She feel bet...more

One of my biggest complaints in a lot of books I've read lately is the 'fiesty heroine' who is really closer to 'insufferable bitch' heroine. Gena Showalter tends to veer in that direction in this book, and then jerks the rug out from under the reader with a truly shocking twist. Unfortunately, Scarlett continues to be an insufferable bitch and never recovers my sympathy.

Another complaint... in many PNR that I'm reading lately is the tendency to veer off into side stories. The latest Nalini Sin...more

Smokinhot Cliff Note: Ok, those of you like me (and K-Khan) and completely forgot the ending in Darkest Passion you are not alone. Darkest Lie starts off with the mysterious Scarlett locked away in the Lords’ dungeon. Gideon can’t quite understand why he is so intrigued by the Keeper of Nightmares, until she mentions she is his wife…

Darkest Lie is for the most part told from Gideone’s POV who has to speak in, well, lies. If he tells the truth he is in...more
A Voracious Reader (a.k.a. Carol)
Gideon is the immortal keeper of the Demon of Lies. He can only speak lies because if he speaks the truth then he suffers unbearable pain and takes days to recover. Not an enjoyable pastime. How frustrating must it be to speak only in lies and never be understood by anyone except his friends, the other immortals who are keepers of demons? According to Gideon, it’s very frustrating and it’s irritating for his friends to listen to him and try to decipher his Gideon-speak.

Even more frustrating is...more

Gideon, keeper of Lies, can tell no truth without suffering unimaginable pain. The last time he did he ended up strapped to a table top and losing his hands courtesy of the damn Hunters. Bastards!! While recovering he learns of a new Lord locked up in the cells of the fortress, a female Lord. When she invades his dreams Gideon is drawn to her and learns something that would shock the best of us - she is his wife!! A wife he has no memory of!! With his head a whirl Gideon snatches his so c...more

Before I get started on discussing anything about this book I just wanna make it known that our "heroine" Scarlet was a great big slice of fat from the annoyance meat. I typically don't really go all "oh, boy! She's the bomb" with Gena's leading ladies, I'm really interested in learning more about the pretty mens but Scarlet was just too much for me and the number one reason why I knocked a star off this book.

Another reason is because while I do not pay much attention to how a book is written,...more

Yep, this one made me cry. It was just so....so....sobs...dysfunctional families aside I just really felt for Gideon and Scarlet. When everything was revealed the devastation practically leapt off the page.

I wondered how Lies would be written especially since he can't ever utter truth without feeling debilitating pain. So he's with a woman he loves but can never say that....tricky....but it was cleverly done. This is our first demon/demon pairing too which 100% makes sense now.

Anyway, loved that...more

Loved Gideon, but don't know if I ever really warmed up to Scarlet. I thought the twist was really interesting and it never ceases to amaze me how Gena Showalter places her characters in these messes. I was so frustrated with Strider, but I am really excited with his book. I can't believe what Aaron did to Amun, as that seemed like it was extremely out of character for him.
StrangeBedfellows
Gena Showalter's "Lords of the Underworld" series continues on strong with this latest installment. This time the spotlight is on Gideon, Keeper of Lies and a personal favorite of mine. As you may recall from the last book, the Lords have recently acquired a prisoner, Scarlet, Keeper of Nightmares. She's dangerous, hostile, beautiful ... and she claims to be Gideon's wife from long ago. Gideon has no memory of Scarlet or their marriage, but he cannot deny the strange connection he feels for this...more

Olmadı , ne yaptın sen Gena? Gideo'nun kitabını serinin en kötü kitabı ilan ediyorum.
Konusu şöyle ,
Bir önceki kitapta Scarlet Gideon'a onun karısı olduğunu söylemişti.
Diğer titanlarla birlikte...more

Wow, this book was really hard to get through. I enjoyed the story, that wasn't the problem. It was written about the Demon Lies and Lies can't tell the truth without experiencing pain. Well that makes reading a story very difficult when everything out of the Hero's mouth is a lie. (No fun trying to decipher everything you read) It makes it impossible to lose yourself in the story. The 3 star is generous because all of the other mini plots taking place that are very interesting.

The ongoing story...more

Unlike the last novel, The Darkest Passion, where the first six chapters dragged and gave me a feeling of deja vu, The Darkest Lie started quite well. Gideon was the first Lord I’ve seen who actually got along (somewhat) with his demon. It added an air of originality. And the voice for Gideon was also quite different from the other Lords. It was almost as if the YA novels Ms. Showalter’s been writing filtered into this one. Because he so like totally used...more

Ah…such a complicated book and such a twist and good use of the word lie. Gideon is a Lord of the Underworld, his demon Lies, so he cannot speak the truth if he does he experiences pain and 99 % of the time he can tell when people are lying, sadly he can’t tell if Scarlet, the recently captured Titan God who houses the demon nightmare, is lying. She told him she is his wife and then shut down plus they both have the same tattoo. He needs answers so he decides to take her...more

I've been meaning to review this series of books ever since I listened to book 1. But after just finishing this book, I have to start with this one.
I'm a big fan of paranormal romances but this series has surpassed what I've read before. The whole idea of having a demon take up residence within you that has a mind and body of its own intrigued me from the beginning. I loved how the demons were able to interact in this book in particular though as well as the result of that interaction.
This is...more

This is the seventh Lords of the Underworld story featuring Gideon, Keeper of Lies, and Scarlet, Keeper of Nightmares, story.

In the last installment, the Lords captured Scarlet and placed her in the castle dungeon. Gideon comes to question her and feels a bewildering feeling of recognition right when she drops her bombshell that they are married. This book takes off with that thread. Gideon decides to discover the truth of the matter and in so doing starts the 'not so and not necessarily happily...more

This is one of the book that i least like from LOTU series.
I think the most important cause is while reading the book i become very annoyed with "Gideon language".

Gideon is paired with Scarlett. A keeper of nightmare who claimed that she is his wife but whom he has no recollection what so ever.

Scarlett also happens to be daughter of Rhea with another man. That is why when she was imprisoned in Tartarus with Cronus and Rhea, Cronus tried to kill her out of hate while Rhea tried to kill her out...more

Sadly, not one of my favorites. Lies, is truly hard to read about because Gideon, as Lies, is forced to say, "I hate you," rather than I love you. He says, "Why aren't you here?" meaning, "Why are you here?" This makes for a hard time reading and while I know Lies has to be part of Pandora's box, why not make it so the woman he loves own ability makes it so Gideon can tell the truth, which is part was done but almost as an afterthought.

I did feel like this book was a little bit drawn out and lik...more

Gideon is one of the warriors who used to guard the God Zeus, but was also part of the group who had decided to open "Pandora's Box". The result is that all the demons that were set loose from the box were put inside each of the warriors that were part of the crime (now known as the Lords of the Unerworld), and it seems some of the prisoners of Tarturus got demons as well.

Gideon received the demon Lies, and any time he tries to speak the truth, he is incapacitated. Most of his friends know how...more

Gue bahkan sampai begadang baca LOTU yang satu ini (padahal lusanya gue mau ujian) :'(
Awalnya gue sempat males baca kisah Gideon ini.. well, he's keeper of lies, which means, gue harus extra konsentrasi baca omongannya Gideon..and i really thought that it was gonna be frustrating!
But, once again, Gena proves me wrong.I love this book!I had no trouble at all to understand Gideon's talking!

Oke, kembali ke jalan ceritanya..

"The Darkest Lie," my favorite in the "Lords of the Underworld" series, because Gideon, if he was real, would be the man of my dreams or more like the demon of my dreams. He's tall, dark, with blue hair and blue eyes, and, of course, ripped with muscles. YUM! When he talks Gideon talk I crack up. His conversation with Olivia in "The Darkest Passion" was extremely entertaining. If you haven't figured it out by now, Gideon is possessed by the demon of lies. He can never speak the truth. Well, he c...more

I have to say Gideon and Scarlet are together, and he is lie's well that is good they both love each other and they need each other.. This book was really good and I laughed a little and read non stop, this book I have to give it 10 stars for it. I can't wait to see what will happen next to them both.. Gena Showalter's "Lords of the Underworld" series carries on strong with this latest installment The Darkest Lie- book 6. This time the limelight is on Gideon, Keeper of Lies and Scarlet, Keeper of Nightmares. She's dodgy, aggressive, and scenic ... and she claims to be Gideon's wife from long ago. Gideon has no recollection of Scarlet or their nuptials, but he cannot deny the outlandish connection he feels for her… Worst he can’t tell if Scar… is telling him the truth! I have to say that this one was the weirdest book in the entire series. A lot of things that happened just had me scratching my head and going. “huh”? Ummmm, demons uhhhh.... Okayyyyyyyy. I'm sure you know the exact scene I am talking about. Let's just say that it's a first for demons (and that it was weird and awfully convenient). I just really don't know what to say about most of what I read, it was so far from the other books.

I did like Gideon and Scarlett as a couple. I thought they made an...more

The Truth Is...

Truth Is...

I've been a monster fan of Showalter's LotU series since first spending time with Maddox, but I have to admit, after book six, I'm a little befuddled. In The Darkest Lie we see the development of the relationship between Gideon, keeper of Lies, and Scarlet, keeper of Nightmares, plot threads with Galen (Hope), head of the Hunters, and Mnemosyne, Rhea's sister and Cronus' sister-in-law, not to mention the threads with other Lords, Strider (Defeat) in parti...more

I bought this book after I read The Darkest Whisper and The Darkest Passion. I really enjoyed them and I decided to go forward with the books in the series and later read the previous ones.
While waiting for my copy of this book to arrive from The Book Depository, I read some reviews and they were all mostly negative. These reviews spoiled my experience of the story. I had a hard time enjoying it, since all the time negative reviews were at the back of my head. But in the end I loved this story a...more
