THE MARQUIS OF BOLIBAR is set in 1812 in the Spanish town of Bisbal, which is being held by German units of Napoleon’s army. The local guerillas are no march for the occupying forces, but the Marquis of Bolibar promises the guerillas victory if they act upon three signals.

Ich habe schon mehrere Bücher von Leo Perutz gelesen und obwohl sie alle einzigartig und anders sind, sind sie alle auf eine bestimmte Art und Weise gleich. Der Marques de Bolibar ist ein historischer Roman mit den üblichen Zutaten: Mystik, menschliche Gefühle (besonders die Eifersucht) und eine extrem einfühlsame Sprache.

Auch wenn ich das Thema nicht so interessant fand, wie beim Schwedischen Reiter, hat es viel Spaß gemacht, der Geschichte des Marques de Bolibar zu folgen. Am Ende More...
