The Sin Eater’s Prince is a sexy and atmospheric tale that reminded me a bit of an old-timey gothic horror movie starring a young Vincent Price, if he were a vampire who preferred handsome auburn tressed young men, that is!

Is that picture not dreamy? Ok, back to business. Set in Wales in 1842, Owen lives amidst superstition. He is a sin-eater and deemed unholy by the townsfolk who only call on him when a loved one is dying. It is Owen’s job to consume the sins of the dying so their souls are ab...more

I'm always on the lookout for good paranormal m/m reads, and this one fit the bill perfectly. You can't help but fall for Owen, the sin eater, and want to see him find some happiness in his lonely life. It was heartbreaking to read about how the community would use him for his services as a sin eater and then discard him without a thought. I hope the author will revisit Owen and Andras in a future title.

Entertaining & Seductively Written

Awesome Read! A story full of world building creativity that brings forth entertainment full of legends, folk lore, and where superstitions rule the town’s people blindly. This fascinating story captures the reader’s heart and sympathy immediately as the story describes a forbidden love between two men who struggle with the secrets of their true feelings towards each other and how society will accept their other worldly secrets as well.

Owen has grown accustomed to his lonely existence. He spends his time waiting for the local physician to call him to his next departing soul. It is the only thing he looks forward to, the local physician summoning him. Owen has become attracted to Andras. Owen knows that wanting the touch of another man is f...more

Owen is one of those perfect males... a quiet, humble man... one that is gorgeous, but doesn’t know it, one that gives of himself day after day and expects nothing in return. From the beginning I fell for Owen. I was so worried he would get his heart stomped upon or end up being used and tossed away. But someone else noticed how amazing Owen is... Andras, small town physician and vampire-in-hiding. The two admire each other from afar, never expecting their lust and desire to be returned. Yet fat...more

Every so often a book comes along that I take a strong dislike to. So while there are very few redeeming qualities about The Sin Eater’s Prince, it did evoke a strong reaction. Unfortunately it is a negative reaction to the poor writing, badly clichéd plot, flat characters that are seriously too stupid to live, and several moments where I literally threw the book. The biggest crime in my opinion is that the characters always took the weak, stupid way out to prolong the drama instead of using int...more

Keta Diablo's latest release The Sin Eater's Prince is a truly mesmerizing story and for this reader it was something a little new. This is Owen's story and he is a Sin Eater has his father before him, curse and held into a life he did not choose. The towns folk look upon his as a plague as they know the site of him carried death. Thing is, Own is just a man in his mid twenties who has his own desires and his number one desire is for Dr. Andras Maddock. A vampire who he can not help but be attra...more

The Sin Eater’s Prince is a story with such deep sense of sadness and yet it is a beautiful tale of love. Keta Diablo brings this incredible dichotomy to life in this quickly-moving story. From a life wrought in loneliness rises a man capable of redemption. Set in long ago England, Owen Rhys is the sin eater of his village which means he absorbs the sins of the newly departed so that they may go cleansed into the afterlife. Because of this position, he has been shunned by the local villagers his...more

Astonising! I never knew what or Sin Eater was and up until now I've never even heard of one and thanks to Keta she brings one to light in this love story between a Sin Eater and a gorgeous vampire. A truly unique mix and I commend Keta for her creativity with this one.

The setting is an era unknown to me, but I picked up on the meaning of certain lingo quickly and I'm proud of myself for it.

Owen is the Sin Eater in this book and he's a man you can't help but fall for. He's unselfish, caring, p...more

Owen Rhys is what people call a Sin Eater. When people are on the brink of death they call him in to take their sins away so they can pass with a clean slate. For this he is shunned from society where people cross to the other side of the street and avoid eye contact. Needless to say he has very little contact with people which just breaks my heart. He is helping people out and should be praised for this not looked down upon! I guess it's the whole scared of what he is way of thinking. One thing...more

FIVE LIPS for The Sin Eater's Prince

Sin Eater by Keta Diablo took me on a fast paced ride. I’ve never imagined Wales to be as beautiful as her description. Lost in her world, I found myself captivated by the characters, both villain and hero. The plot thickened just when I’d thought it would taper, leaving me breathless, on the same journey of both Andras and Owen. Their ending surpassed my initial thoughts and delighted me. I’ve never seen anyone write like...more

O_o this thing has a blurb like that and it's NOT a menage?

post-read ETA:
Eh. Meh. Idk.

Idk, man. Idk.

I mean, on one hand, it's got this cool mysticism about it. An almost folkloric-y feel about it. I liked the connections to Welsh folklore/mythology and how that tied into the story.

On the other, there are times when I feel as if I'm squinting suspiciously at it.

I rather liked the premise. The whole sin-eater thing is something I haven't really encountered before.

The vampire thing seemed a little...more

Ms. Diablo has never disappointed me on any of her reads and The Sin Eater's Prince has topped all of her preivously written works. Set among the ancient Welsh background and folklore, I was captured by the tale of Owen Rhys, reviled in his small village, despite the fact that he draws the sins of the living from their bodies before they meet their maker.

Owen' sole friend is the physician's assistant, Carys. Through Carys, Owen has meet the gorgeous healer Andras. Despite the lore of a sin eate...more

First and foremost i have to say this was my first M/M romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been planning to delve in this genre for a while and having the chance to start with one that has the paranormal involved as well, was just perfect.

Owen is a simple man, ostracized by society's utter ignorance and prejudice and tormented by his gift. He is a soul eater. He has the ability to sense that death is near and to "eat" the dying person's sins in order for their spirit to rise unencumbered...more

Jen (Red Hot Books)
Keta Diablo has created an alternative/ medieval type-world as a backdrop for this m/m love story. Owen is a sin-eater. He carries a magic gift that allows him to relieve the dead of their sins, so their spirits can go on to a better place in the afterlife. But despite the service he performs, he is shunned by his community. His power is considered dark and he lives alone and in poverty. The only people who show him kindness are a sweet young girl named Carys and Andras, the doctor who took her...more

A fast paced guilty pleasure that kept me reading and excited about what was coming next. I loved the historical setting coupled with the folklore and superstition spun into this erotic story. The voice and dialogue was consistent and nicely used which strengthened the quality and enjoyment. The supernatural is grounded and flows with the plot line. A sexy book great to snuggle up with at bedtime or read to relax on vacation. It is for mature adults and has some explicit sexual scenes.

Liked it, didn't love it. My first M/M paranormal book, was hoping for hot and steamy and got luke warm and moist. lol

The story was "ok". Would have liked more of an explanation about the "sin eaters", where they came from etc.

Was a short read as well. Only took me a few hours to read.
Was left w/ more questions and a kinda "ehhhh whatever" feeling.

The Sin Eater’s Prince was very enjoyable. For me this paranormal premise was fresh, unique and intriguing. The suspense was fast-paced, while the primary characters - stout, vivid, and captivating - kept me turning the page. This is a story I will enjoy reading again.

I absolutely loved this story. My fave character was Carys. She's my kind of chick. This read had another great take on vamps and a fresh world to play in. Loved it!

I thoroughly enjoyed The Sin Eater's Prince. I'm a big fan of m/m romance and this didn't disappoint. Owen is the Sin Eater and Andras is a vampire. They both long for each other, but they try to resist the attraction. Things become complicated as evil vampires enter into the scene to take a magical sword that Andras has and threaten to destroy the village. The story held my interest and the m/m romance was awesome. I'll be reading more of her books.

The story was well developed and even rich. But the two main character bored me. The story was boring and the magnetic pull was missing.

By re-reading this story I still felt the same, the plot was at the start interesting, but true the middle it started to bore me.
Nightcolors
The book's beginning was pretty interesting, and I almost liked it ... but in the end, I couldn't really get into the storyline. Mostly, I think it was because I couldn't understand (or didn't agree with) some of the choices the characters made.
Jeydaa
I wasn't sure what to think about the book because not only is the cover of the book dark, but the title is also ominous. Nevertheless, I enjoy really this book . There's a setting, a plot, and loyal characters.
