3.5 stars. I’m not much a “Blaze” reader, but this one was pretty much like a Harlequin Presents with a whole lot more sex; the sophisticated, sexually aggressive heroine is even a virgin. Ah, good old Harlequin.

Seven years previously, a young, lonely, Jessie quickly married a stranger, to help him with a business deal. She was powerfully attracted to Joshua, but he didn’t even learn her real name and never saw her again. Now Jessie wants a baby and she wants it born in wedlock. So she sets out

OK, so it had some believability issues. But I enjoyed it in spite of them. It is set in romancelandia after all.
This was a 3.5 star book. Considering the conditions, it had lots of potential.

A marriage of convenience between the H/h, a 7 year separation, a heroine who wants a legitimate baby, a case of [purposely] mistaken identity, a drawn out seduction and non-consummating lust, followed by absolutely ridiculously hot love scenes, a cold-hearted hero warming up,some angst and finally a HEA.

It fails in only one way - flow. I've heard great things about Ms. Adair, but this is my first book by her, so thi

An enjoyable read, however the plot has been somewhat used and reused and then used again.
A few things thrown in are just a tad bit unrealistic. No one, and i don't care how desperate they are, is going to ask for a speedy marriage to a complete stranger to get more control over a business. if it's just a business arrangement; this "speedy arrangement" (hell your a businessman), find a businesswoman and sign a darn contract that way. ( there's another one that i'll

Enjoyed this book both times I have read it. I really felt the pull-push of these characters and all they go through. Had good balance of things happening or going a certain way I didn't expect which kept it fresh and interesting. There is a certain "charged" feeling in this one that really adds to it.

Almost 4 stars. It was pretty decent, and I was emotionally invested in the characters. I agree with another reviewer who said this was HP-like even though under the Blaze title. Mostly I felt like it was a little too long and I wasn't sure what the point of all the scenes were. But still a decent read.

Bira

Seems a popular choice. 3.5 stars. Not worth 4, but better than 3. Also agree with other comments, more of a Harlequin Presents than Blaze - possibly due to the publish date of 2002. I think the Kindle release was much later and probably gained a new audience.

Hero (Joshua) is a "poor little rich boy" who marries to gain control of a family company from his uncle. The only available bride is a waitress with name-tag "Vera" from a greasy spoon in the middle of nowhere. They enter into a marriage

WHEW! Colleen sure knows her steamy books! This was the first I've read by Cherry Adair and you can be sure I'll be getting more. You just have to love the leading lady, and though the hero seems to be pretty unredeemable in the beginning, he thaws enough to make you start to care pretty soon. The intimate scenes ... very well written and the chemistry was palpable. The only think that kept it from being worth 5 stars (to me) was, I would have LOVED some more time after the climactic HEA moment ...more

"Nimm mich!" ist ein Einzelband, der erstmals im Jahr 2002 auf Englisch veröffentlicht wurde. Es handelt sich um einen erotischen Liebesroman, was ja schon die obige Kurzbeschreibung verrät. Für mich bot dieser Roman nette Unterhaltung für zwischendurch. Den Schreibstil von Cherry Adair mag ich, die Geschichte ist mir teilweise aber zu vorhersehbar und auch etwas zu klischeehaft.

Was mir während des Lesens aufgefallen ist: Das Buch erinnert etwas an "Shades of Grey". Da ich Letzteres erst vor Kur

Premise : hero Joshua Falcon has to marry by midnight in order to gain control of the family business. He's fairly desperate and proposes to a waitress at a dinner called Jessie. She is wearing an I'd card from the last person who wore the uniform whose name is Vera and he does not appear to pay sufficient attention at the wedding ceremony to note her real name. He then goes off on his merry way, making financial provision for 'vera'.

His wider family takes pity on her ( without his know

The storyline seemed kind of dated to me, like maybe the book was originally written in the 80's and was just updated in minor ways. For example, at the beginning of the story, Joshua whips out a cell phone for Jessie (aka Vera) to call his attorney to verify who he is. But later, they don't seem to use cell phones. As a matter of fact, in one scene, Jesse is running in the door of her house to a ringing phone and doesn't reach it in time. Just seemed odd. Also, him not ever keeping any sort of ...more

As much as I love romance, I almost never read these types of Harlequin series romance books, because I usually find them too sappy, over the top, and dare I admit... poorly written for my tastes. But after hearing some good things about this one and noticing that it had a somewhat normal title, (as opposed to those "The Greek Billionaire Prince and his Virgin Secretary Mistress" type names) I decided to give it a try. And what do you know, I was pleasantly suprised! Not to say that I didn't hav ...more

Take Me by Cherry Adair

Romance, fake marriage, fake relationship turns into more, conflict, hot sex and then love.
Ok, of course there is lots more. I loved the heroine, Jessie Adams. She is feisty, cheerful and loves bright colors. She wants a baby and has chosen her husband for the father. But Joshua Falcon doesn't even know her real name. I wasn't fond of the lies that were told but is kind of reminded me of an old Barbara Cartland romance I read many many years ago. I was slow getting into it. The story was kind of predictable. But it was good. At times I felt for Joshua and the pain he endured, the lack of love in his life, the betrayals women dealt on him, and the way he loved Jessie without even knowing so himself.
Jessie deceived him, but she did nothing less than collecting what belonged to her. At first I couldn't understand why she wasn't upfront with him, but then they wouldn't have gotten to know each other the way they did, and fall in love the way

This is the second Harlequin I've read by Cherry Adair. I really liked the first, so I gave this one a shot. The plot is alone is very Harlequin, but I was impressed by the characters. There were times I didn't like Joshua, but his story made perfect sense with his personality. Jessie was great. She was no weak woman that always bent for her man. She had spunk and depth of character.

Would recommend to all Harlequin fans.
