Another great read from Elizabeth Peters. Amelia Peabody Emerson is one of my most favorite characters in literature (I want to be her when I grow up). She doesn't disappoint in Children of the Storm. One of the major bonuses of this series is learning about the Egyptian culture and Egyptology. I find it especially interesting being set in the early 1900's. It is sad to think of all the unrest that has happened in Egypt since then.

The thing that I love about all off Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody Mysteries is that each book contains thoughful writing, wonderful characters, real egyptology, real egypt history, super mysteries and the author has a witty voice. Now I must admit that I dont usually recommend these books to men because the main character is a head strong british woman - I have found that her voice doesnt really appeal to men but if one is tired of the dry egyptology book pick up Elizabeth Peters and you will...more

Another excellent Amelia Peabody mystery. Ramses, Nefret & their children join Emerson and Amelia in Egypt for another season, and are later joined by David, Lia and all their extended family. It's rather nice seeing everyone together and the mystery is really good - a veiled goddess, mysterious characters popping up everywhere, Sethos making a special appearance (awwww). I just love Ramses and Nefret's family, it's all very sweet and I love their relationship.

My mom - it came in my latest bag of books.
This was my first Elizabeth Peters/Amelia Peabody book. I found it very entertaining. The characters are great, and the egyptian history and archeology are incredible. I have always enjoyed historical books, and this one did not disappoint.

If you like Amelia Peabody, you'll very much enjoy *Children of the Storm.* It's among the best of the late novels. (If you're not into Amelia Peabody, this is a poor place to start.)

Great Story, I loved the end. Poor Peabody. I think this one is the latest, but the ones written after this one took place earilier.
