Blood on My Hands (Thrillogy #2)
Callie is at an October keg party in the woods, when she notices that her friend Katherine has gone missing. The kids spread out to look for her and Callie finds her, lying on a path, with a big, bloody fake knife in her. She reaches for the knife and raises it, only to discover, to her horror, that it is real. At that moment, another of the search party stumbles on them,...more

The book I read was Blood on my Hands by Todd Strasser. This book was a Murder Mystery. This book is about a girl named Callie who got accused for murder. In the beginning at high school party, Katherine was missing. While everyone was looking for her, Callie saw her at the baseball field on the ground. She saw a knife wedged into her side and thought it must be fake. So Callie pulled it out to realize it wasn’t fake. When people saw this they snapped a picture o...more

Ugh.
I had decided to read this because Wish You Were Dead had some interesting twists and I had thought this book would be the same and even hoped it was actually better.
But it's worse.
Callie is an idiot. I sincerely felt no sympathy. She has no common sense. I wanted to smash her head in after reading the part where she, not only MISTOOK Katherine lying down bloody with a knife on her as a prank, she also HAD to pick it up even after finding out that Katherine was dead. Is she that retarded? Yo...more

Wanting a novel that keeps you in suspense as we try and discover who the killer is and why the number #1 suspect is being framed ?
Blood on my hands , in many ways reminded me of plots that I have read a thousand times ( due to being such a huge reader) -though this is not to say I don't enjoy the plot in other novels . The rich, popular girl -the one everyone wants to be like is found murdered . The new girl in the group , the one with a dodgy past finds her and ends up being the number #1 sus...more

Blood on My Hands was a very good book. It had lots of suspense. I couldn't stop reading it. It had a really good plot. The ending was great because I didn't expect it.
The book was about a girl named Callie. She was friends with a bunch of popular girls at her school. She was at a party when one of her friends tells her to look for another girl who has been gone a while. She goes looking for her and she finds her dead body. Someone murdered her. It is dark and she can't see that well. She sees...more

This just didn't work for me. I really should have abandoned it a few chapters in, but my curiosity got the best of me and I just had to find out who the killer was. (It wasn't who I expected, but that doesn't make up for the story overall.)
The writing was so disjointed--it skipped through time every chapter (present tense vs. past tense). While this created suspense and kept me reading, it also felt very uneven because I just wanted the writing style to be consistent.

I loved this book. It was so suspenseful, and I was always on the edge of my seat. I think this book is good for anyone who likes mysteries. Throughout the book there were flashbacks that led up to the reveal of the real killer.
In the beginning Callie decides to go to a party. While she is at the party she realizes that her friend Katherine is missing. Dakota, her other friend, tells her to go look behing the dugout. When she gets there she sees Katherine on the ground dead. She tries to feel if...more

(spoiler alert!!)It was one of the best books I have ever read. Callie went to a party with her friend. One of her "friends" was gone and nobody knew where she was, so they went looking for her. Callie found her behind the dug out at her high school. She was dead. Callie felt for a pulse "on her wet, sticky neck." She looked like she was cowering from her attacker. Suddenly Callie heard voices coming closer. It is Dakota, Kathrine's(the deceased girl)friend/enemy. She was with someone else. They...more

Mystery readers watch CSI, right?
Callie finds herself in the wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time when she discovers the body of her friend Katherine covered in blood during an alcohol-laden high school party. In an unbelievable faux pas considering our forensic-driven world, Callie picks up the knife and is captured on camera by a gawking crowd of teens. From there, blood-soaked Callie goes on the lam instead of doing the logical thing when one is innocent—staying put...more

Well, I enjoyed this book at the beginning. It started the way I wanted it to, and progressed rather well until the middle. From there, it went downhill, and then back up again.
The plot was very predictable, and the pace of the book was moderate. I found the constant flashbacks annoying, but necessary to the overall plot surrounding Callie, Slade, Katherine, Mia, and Dakota.
Without giving away too many details, Callie finds her "best friend" Katherine dead. Students arrive to the scene and see...more

This was a good book, but I'm mad at myself because I didn't know it was a sequel until after I saw mention of the trilogy in some of the reviews!
Really well-written, tight and fast-paced. Somehow, though, I couldn't suspend my belief enough to get really drawn into the story. Maybe because I guessed - correctly - the culprit from the beginning, that Callie couldn't tell some people weren't bring truthful (techno guy with the cell thing). And also maybe because I didn't like that she ran, but it...more

I thought that Blood on My Hands (my book) was very good. The problem with this book is that all mystery books these days are the same thing over and over again. It's just a typical girl running away from the cops because she was accused of murdering someone but she didn't do it. They also find out who really murdered the girl at the end, but that is what makes the book a mystery. My likes for this book is that Todd Strasser made the book more interesting by writing it in a different style. I li...more
Callie is at a party and she goes looking for her friend, Katharine. When she finds Katharine, she is dead; however, Callie makes it even worse be picking up the knife, and getting "blood on her hands." Someone comes out and takes her picture, and then a group of people see her. Now she is one the run because everyone thinks she is the killer.
This is a quick read mystery story, but the unfortunate part is that the suspense is not really gripping. Since I always try to finish every book I start,...more

I decided to read this book because the cover court my eye when I was trying to find a book to read from the school library. I also enjoy reading crime books. This book fits into the category on the bingo book as a book written in 2011. My favorite quote from the book is ''in fact do me a favor, okay?'' because in the end that seems to be why there was blood on Callie's hands because of a little favor. My favorite character from this book is Callie because she not afraid to speak the truth. The...more
The cover:
This is the UK cover, and for some reasons, I like it better than the US cover, probably because Wish You Were Dead’s, the previous book’s, UK cover is way prettier than the US one. Although, the US one makes more sense….

This story has less horror in it than the previous book but way more suspense. I was holding my breath all the time because I knew something bad was going to happen.

Another book with a "character is a lesbian and is ashamed so she treats everyone around her terribly and even tries to "turn" a straight female character" trope.
Blech.
The story was a mix of the fugitive and thrillers. Strasser does a good job of keeping up the suspense and the story doesn't drag.
There was a twist as always, and I enjoyed that. The story as a completely melodramatic soap opera, which I am sure will appeal to a lot of teens.

I wasn't sure I read the first book so thought I might be lost; however, the first book came back to me immediately upon reading the names of the characters. I think to understand the inability of the main character to go to her mom, it is important to have read the first book. It is mentioned in this book but more as an aside.
The twist in this book really had be going. I kept guessing throughout as too who had the blood on a hand.

Blood on my hands was an interesting book, and i can understand how different people may interpret and like it in different ways and measures. I found the style of writing was very effective, with glimpses of the past and present that altogether created the mood of the book, however the protagonist was clingy and (harsh judge) weak. She depended all too much on other people.

The first thing I have to say is about the cover. It is the only reason I picked it up, that and the title. I was roaming around my public library and the title caught my eye and then the cover made me get it.
Moving on, I read maybe 70 pages and immediately wrote in my notes:
So far, very three star-y.
It was, and it got worse.
First of all, how stupid do you have to be to look for a pulse, find none, but still take the knife to see if it is fake. Really? If I had seen a dead body, fake or not, at...more

Blood On My Hands is a YA murder mystery novel that constantly keeps you in suspense as we try to find out who the killer is, and why our main character, the #1 suspect is being framed.

This was the first book I had read by Todd Strasser. I absolutely adore it!
The story of it was so intriguing and it was hard not to be captivated. We are thrown straight into the action with our main character, Callie, found standing above her dead friend with a knife in her hand. So naturally, Callie runs.
Callie gets a lot of help throughout this book from her ex-boyfriend.
There is a lot of tension in the book and you have to keep reading to see what happens. It is extremely addictive.
