This installment revolves around the Montana Pack with a crisis of death and rebirth. Eve is killed in a senseless car accident and ascends to their version of Chanku heaven where, surprisingly, she displaces the current goddess. Turns out Lianna has been doing a really lousy job as a goddess and she gets kicked down to earth as a mortal while Eve takes her place as goddess.

Finishing this book left me appreciating the ground work of the novella/short story in the Sexy Beast books I read before this book. I think for me it was the deepest book yet in emotional, spiritual, and pack growth of them all. While I didn't cry w/ the "loss" of a character by the end of the book I understood why I couldn't. I really like this series, but I have to say this is not my favorite. One of my least favorites, in fact. There was a lot of rehashing of events in previous books. There were some really Excellent M/M scenes. But I never really connected with the 2 main characters, and I never really felt they connected with each other, either. The ending was reasonably satisfying, but overall this book lacked something, for me.

Recommends it for:
fans of paranormal erotic romance
This is a great erotic story with an unpredictable plot. I never thought that the death of a main character in the series would provoke such an interesting and satisfying outcome. I do wish the author had taken us further down the road in the final relationship, but a courtship as the final result was OK.
Another for the keeper shelf.
