Weddings are big news in Second Creek, Mississippi, especially when the wedding is that of the town's new mayor seventy-one-years-young Hale "Mr. Choppy" Dunbar. He is about to tie the knot with Gaylie Lyons, to whom he'd first lost his heart to back in the 1940s. Of course The Nitwits, a group of wealthy Southern widows, are all aflutter and busy helping Gaylie Girl with all the arrangements.

The Piggly Wiggly books are what I call whimsical charming little books about this group of wealthy Sou

A nauseatingly sweet novel centering around a group of seniors (aka elderly) in the South.

This is part of a series of books concerning the Wiggly Piggly and its' owner. Apparently after almost 50 years, Mayor Hale has finally hooked up with his life long love Gaylie Girl. Yes, that's right, her name is Gaylie Girl. I should've stopped reading at this point.

Had a good time reading this. Stories about a second chance at love for an older couple who went to school together. The story involves her spoiled children not being able to see her rich mom moving to a backwoods city and marrying a former owner of a piggly, wiggly story. But a group of local women calling themselves the nitwits came to their aid and save the day. Very enjoyable read

Cute, frothy little Southern novel. Nothing really unique in the realm of Southern fiction. For those who get a kick out of cute Southern books, this will fit the bill nicely. Me, I guess I got my fill of Southern eccentricity just LIVING down there for so long.

I would actually give this book about 3.75 - it was good, pleasant, and an easy, interesting read.

It was a good fluff reading. Would be a great beach read.
