This book was very surprising. Anne Bird is one of two children that Scott Peterson's mother gave up for adoption. Anne is reunited with her birth mother and the brother her birth mother also gave up for adoption. Then she meet her other brother, Scott Peterson. Anne started out believing Scott was innocent and defended him. But, as she tried to convince others, she found herself questioning her own beliefs. In the end, she realizes Scott is guilty. The whole process Anne goes through is ...more

This book was honest, and in some ways a heart-breaking story of family betrayal (Scott betraying Anne AND Anne betraying Scott by writing this book) and struggle.
This book is honest - I believed every work and emotion Anne wrote, and hurt for her as she described the troubled time of Scott's extended stay in her home in the Bay Area and her attempt to put her life back together after it was all over.
This book gives more insight into Scott's intentions, state-of-mind, and motive than ...more

I've read almost every book on the Scott Peterson trial. This one felt deceptive. I expected an insider's view from the close sister. Wrong. She had only just met him before the trial, so her 'inside view' really doesn't offer much. Also, her list of reasons, for the most part, is pretty random and inconclusive. This just felt like a chick trying to get in on the money. My least favorite book on the Scott Peterson trial (and that includes the Amber Frey one!)

Another story from another perspective on the Laci Peterson murder. Interesting because it is from the sister of Scott Peterson. Granted, they weren't close for a really long time, but the things that she pieces together are really chilling. The fact that she finally gets to know her brother and finds that he is a murderer is so sad. It's a good book and follows the timeline along with what we already knew and with Sharon Rocha's book as well.

I studied criminology in college. During one of the courses I was taking, Lacey Peterson vanished. It was plastered all over the news. My teacher at the time, who had been in law enforcement predicted that it was the husband who would be found responsible. I was shocked when the truth came out. this book, written by Scott Peterson's step-sister gives a chilling account of the time right before and after Lacey's murder. great read!

The Laci Peterson case intrigues me and I've read 3 books about it so far. This was a good one because his sister knew him well and even let him live with her after Laci went missing...so she gives a first-hand account of what went on. Very interesting - almost too eery to be true.

This book was very interesting. It was interesting and scary to see into the life of a killer. I would recommend it to anyone interested in the Peterson story, or to anyone feeling suspicious about someone they are dating. It gives validity to following your intuition.

Like everyone else, the death of Lacy Peterson stuck in my mind and pained my heart. This is one of many books that opened my eyes to people like Scott Peterson. Read for purely informational purposes but was also an eye catcher.

If you followed this story on the news at all, there isn't much new to hear in this book. It felt as though the author sold out her new found family without contributing much in the way of knowledge.

This book was not good at all. I wouldn't read it again and wouldn't want to recommend it to anyone either. The author just used the book as a way to cash in on a tragic loss.

This was so captivating, but not as good as the one Laci's mom wrote. Still getting crap from mom & the aunts for adding these to my year-end book reviews.

Interesting view of what happened to Lacy written by Scott's step sister Events that happened before during and after the police investigation.

This was interesting. I always thought he was guilty, and still do, but wonder what the author's real motives were for writing this book.

Good read to hear that even his family believes he's guilty. He's one sick monster.
