someone with a longer attention span than I...
At the beginning of the 3rd volume I felt lost. My attention to detail and my own historical knowledge of the time period was so lacking that I found myself flipping page to page, unaware of what was happening. The characters are so numerous I could not keep track. By volume 4 it seems as though there is only one point being made...(read the first chapter of volume one if you're interested).

So essential for one's library that it is silly to even mention it. Casanova rocks his world - and not just the women I might add. Get all volumes. It's a hoot and quite an adventure at the same time.

Volumes 3 & 4 are my favorites of Casanova's History and include his escape from the Leads.
