i just found out i won this book. it looks like a fun read, i can hardly wait to get it in the mail. thanks goodreads!

finished it today, 5/29/2010
it was good! kind of like sue grafton and stephanie plum combined. a fun italian flavored read! good job!

I thought this second book in the series was a very entertaining, light summer read. Since I have read all of the Stephanie Plum books, this was an excellent substitute. The author has a great voice and gives the reader a great blend of mystery and romance. I love the characters. Vinnie is a smart, sassy Italian who has two hot cop guys always looking out for her when she gets in over her head in mischief, which is most of the time. The book is full of all things regarding the stereotypical Ital ...more

Dirty Trouble

Yes of course I liked this book. I wouldn't read it twice if I didn't. What can I say, if you expect me to discuss this like I was giving a book report, not going to happen. J. M. Griffin is of the modern generation of women authors. From Dorothy Sayers, Margery Allingham, Georgette Heyer through Agatha Christie and Martha Grinds as well as the ones of today have their own style of romantic involvement. That has its own honor to me.
Loved the first book so much I couldn't wait to download and read the second book to see what trouble Livinia Esposito(Vinnie) could get into. She reminds me of Stephanie Plum but a bit smarter, tougher and stronger. Her family is on the outskirts of the mob in Rhode Island, she teaches Criminal Justice at the University to all the cops in the state and she is involved with a State Trooper Marcus Richmond and her FBI neighbor Aaron. Vinnie runs into more troubles than you can imagine and everyon ...more
A fun mystery of mob proportions. Vinnie finds herself in the middle of a pile of trouble with car accidents, mob drama and an ex stalker. Cute and fun to read. Vinnie and her friends are a hoot.
This is a bit like the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series; girl always stumbling into trouble, two hot guys, crazy family, love of food, continually smashed up cars, eye-catching sidekick. Esposito lacks the rib-splitting uncontrollable explosions of laughter or shuddering seedy darkness of Plum. Light easy reading for the gym or bathtub. Will keep one of the series around for summer swimming pool time, or stuck in traffic going no where time.
One of my favorite authors

Great storyline, humorist, with lots of twists and turns, romance and cute guys what more could you want in a book lol
Not quite as fasted-paced as the first, but still good. I'm getting a little annoyed by certain things Vinny says/does, but other then I like the series so far.

A nice light read. I love J.M.'s sense of humour.
This is the 2nd book in the Esposito Mystery series. Vinnie is having a run of tough luck or so she thinks. First, she is involved in an accident and that sets off a chain of events that would make anyone scream. Of course, there's her continuing romance with Trooper Marcus Richmond and the upstairs tenant who just happens to be a hunk and an FBI Agent. I enjoyed this book so much more than the 1st book. It contained more action and more romance between Vinnie and Marcus.
JM Griffin in All 3 Books in the Series has not disappointed me once... Characters are developed and I know them Better now That I am Reading "Cold Moon Dead" Quirky Appeals to me and The Rhode Island setting is perfect..And Vinnie she pulls us in to her world Which Is Comforting... ;) Mystery,Murders & The Mob...
This is another light, fun read about Vinny. No matter how hard she tries, trouble seems to find her. It's always interesting how she manages to get out of tight spots. Her aunt in this book is a hoot. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I loved it, I was drawn into this book immediately and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend reading this book as well as the others in the series.

The thrills just keep coming when you go for a ride with Vinny. Another book where I couldn't put it down until I reached "The End".
Good follow up.... Vinnie is always in trouble! How she manages to juggle two hot men is beyond me.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as well as the first. I'm now looking forward to book three.
