Really enjoyed this book. Glimpses of gay life in Toronto in the 1950's and 60's are very hard to find. I know a few, this book, Cabbagetown Diary: A Documentary, and another book written by Don McLeod, A Brief History of Gay, Canada's First Gay Tabloid, 1964-1966. Rick Bebout has an online book at http://www.rbebout.com/bar/contents.htm. What I'd like is for someone to write a book called Gay Toronto: 1950-1975 and have some of these articles from Flash and True News Times, some photos of the M ...more

A very informative read. The account of gay life in 1940s and 50s Toronto was fascinating. I also didn't know the tension Jim's public activism caused in his relationship with Jack for many years. A short read but well worth it.
