Seriously lacking in character and story development. But I guess if you are not a reader then this might be a place to start. It could have used some realism to help make the story seem somewhat plausible and draw the reader in.

Brides for Brothers book 1

Im rating the books together. For
quick romance reads, I loved both stories.
Oh my gosh book 2 had me crying my eyes out. Books one made me frustrated with Sawyer. I love when a book can bring out so many different emotions at once.

I love that it was a good romance even without any sex going on. These books were more emotional. You could almost feel what these two couples were going through. Ellen and davids

"Midnight Sons Volume # 1" by Debbie Macomber was a wonderful romantic contemporary read. I thought this was a well written story that kept me turning the pages until the end. Would bringing women to Hard Luck, Alaska in the hopes of matchmaking with the various men that lived there was really something that I tho

Basic romance stories... Nothing amazing, but I did appreciate that the author kept all sexual relationships in the bounds of marriage and only hinted at, no explicit detail.

Debbie Macomber is always a guaranteed winner for something to read. Her characters always feel like someone you want to sit down with and spend hours chatting over coffee. Loved that the publisher decided to re-release this series. I'd read only one of the books of the series, so it was nice to be able to get everyone's story, all in one shot.

This was my introduction to Debbie Macomber and let me tell you... two pages and I was HOOKED! I could close my eyes and see every detail of every character and building. Very well written and it actually makes me sad that I hadn't read any of Debbie's work sooner... but... I've been having a great time catching up!

Volume 1 of Macomber's Midnight Sons series, 2 short reads in one. Heartwarming, feel-good and great escapism. I really enjoyed the small town Alaska setting. Looking forward to reading the other 2 volumes.

There are two novellas in this book. The first one is Brides for Brothers. It is light reading at its best! The story takes place in Hard Luck, Alaska, north of the Artic Circle. The men of this very small town decide to import some single women into town. The results are not quite what they wanted, but are humorous and entertaining.
The second novella is The Marriage Risk. It picks up where the first story leaves off.
Charles O'Halloran, one of the bush pilots, is as stubborn as they come. But s
I loved this series and have read them all. I LOVE Debbies writing. The characters become friends and I loved following all their stories and how they all intertwined.

This book is really nothing special, although I do find Debbie Macomber to choose the most bizarre settings! Men in a little Alaskan town of 150 people north of the Arctic Circle decide to offer jobs, shacks and land to women in an attempt to lure them into town for the men to enjoy without having to marry them (which would of course tie the men down and mean they have to take care of the women).

Very good book kept my interest to the end

I enjoyed the setting of the book and learning about Alaska and how people live out by the tundra. Debbie described the people and the setting very well. Not a book I would normal'm y pick out but very glad I did.

I really enjoyed reading the 2 books in one series. I am looking forward to reading the next one. Debbie's writing is always consistently entertaining with enough romance showing faith and a little shot of excitement thrown in.
Hard Luck Alaska is a small town of 150 citizens, no main roads, mostly men, bears, and freezing cold. When the men of Hard Luck speak to the owners of Midnight Sons (a airplane company) about moving some women up to the small town to try to keep some pilots in the area they aren't aware that some of them would fall hard and fast.

This was a compilation of two stories. The stories were a little similair and different at the same time. There is something about the feel descriped in books about re

Midnight Sons Volume 1 review

The set contains two books written by author Debbie Macomber, Brides for Brothers and Marriage Risk. Both are great stories from Hard Luck, Alaska.
How does this book have a four star rating? And how does Ms. Macomber have a tv series? No plot, no character development, nothing to want me try another book by this author. I'm thinking these had to be her first books published under a Harlequin series. Urgh.

Two sweet stories. I believe in true love and I believe that it can happen and be real in the way it was portrayed in the these stories. But I also believe it is a very rare. A good read.
