I enjoy reading postmodern fiction more than I enjoy the theory and postmodern theorists, and theorists altogether for that matter. I value practice over theory, and I actually love reading books and seeing art, even if the political point of view is not mine. This seems to position me against postmodern theorists, but luckily Christopher Butler seems to feel the same way I do. His book on the subject is informative and circumspect, though not dismissive.

This isn't really a short introduction to postmodernism. It's more of a short critique of postmodernism for people who already know the theory. I read this book for school, and Butler's fighting words made me want to fight back.
