Suzainur K.A.R.
If this book was written as a "horrid novel that corrupt innocent young feminine minds" in the Victorian times, I think it would have been a bestseller. It has all the requisite: a feisty heroine, a dark, brooding hero, a tempting yet menacing villain, isolated grand mansion/castle, supernatural entities, perilous moments, misunderstandings and torrid resolution.

Sadly, I find the melodrama overwrought, the heroine AND hero annoying in their inconstancy and immaturity, the plot unnecessarily plod

I liked the situation that Charlotte was in, and some of it was unpredictable.
Charlottes character really pissed me off at some points in the book. Why in the world, would you trust some guy at the ball, and run away that night, trusting that he has your best intentions in mind? I just found her to be weak, and it pisses me off when female characters in a book are displayed as being naive or weak. There
