PB:39 Anna's Special Present. A great example of an older sister sharing with her younger sister once she found out she was ill. It would have been better if her little sister, Emily, would have talked more at the beginning. I also did not like the fact that Anna was left alone for part of the night by herself at the house. I would have been scared with the storm! Still a good book though!
Irresponsible parenting...from the decision to leave one so young home alone AND the gift at the end which doesn't feel right for the age and circumstances. The mention of a neighbor, who plays no part in the story at all, does not help as the author perhaps thought smoothed over this problem.
