The third and last in the Lavinia Lake/Tobias March series, this one is perhaps my favorite of the three, although they are all terrific. The plot line has the novelty of the four private investigators (helped by their two higher-born friends) pursuing an early version of a "hit man". By now, the characters seem like old friends. Lord Vale and Joan Dove are back, Anthony and Emeline develop further as characters, and Priscilla gets a bigger part (very minor role in the first two)....more

Last in a great trilogy featuring 2 of my favourtie characters, Tobias and Lavinia. Once again a fantastic story by AQ. I do have a gripe with this one, though. I thought because it was the last in the trilogy and the 'conclusion' of the romance for Lavinia and Tobias that the romance would have taken a greater role in this one. Never mind it was still a very enjoyable read. I would love to see a follow-up though for Emmeline and Tony??!!

It's the third in a trilogy (a first for Quick) and while fun to read, it definitely wasn't as good as the first two. Lavinia Lake is probably my favorite character she has created in all her books, and although I would love to read more of her adventures, I think it was probably wise to end it after this book. Predictability is never good for an author - which tends to be my biggest gripe with Terry Goodkind's past few works.

Finally Lavinia and Tobias are married! It's seems like I've been waiting ages. The book's good. Typical Amanda Quick; although I would have preferred not waiting three books for their marriage.
