I'll just say it. I hadn't read a book for pleasure since before I started grad school back in 2004, so I needed something easy, like training wheels. 20 Times a Lady was exactly those training wheels that I needed. All of the sudden I was pulling a frickin' Lance Armstrong at the end of it. Anyway, I kept thinking the whole time I was reading this equivalent of an US Weekly and that I would totally watch a chick flick based on the storyline of this book... (drumroll) which is ...more

Gah, horrible book!
Premise: She has slept with 19 guys and decides that she doesn't want her "number" to go any higher than 20, so she has to make sure the last one is for good.
But she wakes up one morning next to a coworker and has screwed up her plan.
Since she can't go over 20, she sets off on a cross-country mission to track down all the other 19 guys she has slept with and make one of them work.
By chapter 9 (tracking down 9th guy), I got so bored, that I skipped ahead b...more

I love love loved this book. I picked it up because of the title, expecting a trashy awful romance novel, but I actually found Karyn Bosnak's portrayal of a woman 'trying to find Mr. Right' to be fairly realistic, and the romance at the end...as predictable as it was, I found it delectable all the same!
A bit silly, not remotely deep, but oh so much fun!

Delilah Darling has hit THE number. After discovering in a magazine that the average woman has had only 10.5 partners in her lifetime, Delilah decides that her behavior cannot continue. Her younger sister is getting married, their mother pities her, and she just got laid off. Delilah decides it’s the perfect time to get a grip on her life, and takes her severance pay to finance a trip down memory lane with all of the men on her list, figuring that a keeper has to be in there somewhere. Well, I'm as much a fan of 'fluff' reading as anyone because sometimes you just don't want to think. However, and this will sound way harsh (because it is), I think I felt brain cells actually dying while reading this.
We know who she's gonna wind up with in the first two chapters. And it's really, really hard to feel sympathy for the drunk maiden who is the main character for the first four chapters--later on she does become more appealing, but still not appealing enough to drag on for the ...more

In theory this book kind of sounded cute, until I started reading it... I absolutely despised the main character from the very beginning. The only saving grace was the character of Colin and he isn't really in the book enough to help. Delilah is not likable at all, and it kind of made me wonder if we were supposed to like her, I'm guessing that the answer was supposed to be yes, but it is unimaginable to me how anyone could not despise her. The final thing that annoyed me almost as much as the m...more

The synopsis of the book made me think it was the perfect book to me, as it is pretty much similar to the things I live. Thanks God she has a much worse luck than I do. *lol*
It's a light and entertaining read and made me laugh a lot in many parts. Unfortunately, the ending was way to predictable as I guess it is pretty normal when it comes to Chick Lit.

This book is full of misused words and is one of the most painful examples of chick lit. The protagonist has slept with 20 men, none of the relationships work out, and she goes back to see if she can make any of the "relationships" work out. Painful example of what "feminism" means these days: sleeping with men without a second thought.

I liked this book a lot too. I don't remember where I found it or found out about this author or book but I did enjoy it. It's a fast read and it seems that she has one or two other books that may be worth taking a look at. I liked the humor added to the book, not too much, not to little.

Every now and again I choose a book that screams "chick lit" and am so rarely disappointed. Everyone loves a good laugh, love, and self deprecating wittiness. ;) I loved this book! I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it last week - it was very entertaining!

I wasn't a huge fan of this book. The premise was dumb. She wants to find her soulmate in the 20 guys that she's slept with so badly that she goes all the way back to the first and starts dating him, despite the fact he's a jerk. At least she ends up with the right guy.

The copy I was reading had so many typos I wanted to strangle the copy editor, but it was still pretty good. I read it on a plane, and finished the whole thing in one sitting. I felt like it had the fun of a "Bridget Jones" with a little more depth and feeling.

Ugh... take my advise: just don't. Whoever edited this thing needs to go back to school, there are so many spelling and syntax issues, it distracted from the paper thin plot!

Even though I'm a sucker for music and pop culture references my fluffy reads, if the rest of a book is just downright average I'm reluctant to rate it on a whole much higher than a C.

I loved this book. It's written in a 29 yr old voice, but I still loved it. Maybe because I'm immature, and/or maybe because I have a grown daughter, I enjoyed this book.

Pretty typical chick lit, but I couldn't help finding it super cute. Thus, I really enjoyed it, even if it wasn't the highest quality novel I've ever read.

This book is hysterical. I don't know that you'll necessarily derive any deep meaning from it, but it is a really cute take on chick lit. I loved it.
