I absolutely loved this book as a teen. I found it enchanting and magical and somewhat poetical.
This year, it was in my kid's reading list from school. I didn't tell her to read it, as I know she needs to choose on her own, but finally she picked it up and I was so eager to read it along her. She started slowly and before she stroke midway she was tired with it, so offered to read aloud to her and comment on the chapters.

El otro día volví a leer este libro que me gustó tantísimo cuando tenía 10 años. Ya me lo he leído decenas de veces, y con el paso de los años no deja de gustarme. Era otra época, la literatura juvenil era verdadera literatura y no te trataban como si fueras estúpido. El tema central no eran los emparejamientos, las historias de amor si las había eran sutiles y abiertas. This is pretty funny, because I had to read this book for school (I wasn't much of a bookworm at 12, lol, actually, I didn't read at all) Thing is, I REAAALLY didn't wanna read it (the title isn't veeeery appealing to be honest plus I kinda disliked reading) but then, the book exam was getting closer so I was like, well, just get it over with) and OMG! i've read better mystery books but it was very interesting too.
A must read book, you wont´t regret it!

El libro más equis del universo.
I listened to this on e-book when I was a teenager and fancied another read at 35+ and it is still excellent. Love the story, how it fits together. Part detective story part love story with an egyptian twist set in Sweden.
