This is the big finale to Daisy's story and it's grand, for sure. Daisy is in her last semester in High School and she is anxiously waiting for her acceptance letters but nothing seems to show up. In the mean time, her boyfriend, Ryan, is thinking of leaving Nightshade for college. Also, a huge fight between werewolves and vampires is about to start. Both sides have so casualties but Daisy is beginning to believe that the attacks are not by paranormal but by the Sourge, the organizati

In a word, this book was abbreviated. It's like having a bored teenager tell you a story as quickly as possible, and the only two things that interest that teenager are food and clothes. The books reads like: skim skip skim extreme detail of everyone's clothing skim skip skim intricate detail of food preparation. Near the end of the book, I was suprised to discover that the main character is tall. In fact, I really didn't know what anyone looked like nor most of the places they went. The story i ...more

This is such a cute little series. I've really enjoyed reading all the books. In 'Dead is Not An Option', Daisy the detective is on the trail once again to solve the mysteries of Nightshade, while also getting ready for graduation and college.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick, easy read. It was also the perfect ending for the series. There were quite a few twists that I didn't see coming. Quite a few funny moments also. I enjoyed watching the characters grow over this series, an

Sometimes it's just nice to sink into a quick, sweet book. The 'Dead' series is perfect for that. 'Dead is Not An Option' is the 5th book in the series about a supernatural girl, Daisy, living in the supernatural tow of Nightshade.

Daisy anxiously awaits the arrival of her college acceptance letters while doing all those traditional senior things like prom, graduation parties, and worrying if her boyfriend will forget her when he goes off to college. And, the mystery of Lily and Bathazar's entra

Graduation is about all Daisy can think about; friends are going through all their “lasts” this senior year, Ryan isn’t quite telling her the truth, and she still hasn’t heard back from UC Nightshade about her admissions. I thought Perez did a wonderful job capturing how it feels to be moving from one stage of your life to the next; just because this is a “special” community doesn’t make Daisy and her friends any less human, and college and life are scary – and she wrote that well.

But that’s no

Recommends it for: Read if you love...Forgive My Fins, Beastly, Nancy Drew series
This is my first foray into the series and, as with series that I enjoy you don't have to read the other books to get what's going on, but I definitely am going to after this one. I've been wanting to read the series for a long time and own two others already, so when I saw that I could get this one as a review at Netgalley, I jumped at the chance.
If you are looking for a book that's adult and in-depth than this series is not for you, however, this book beats the Twilight series any day. It's

My thoughts:
Although this book easily stands alone, I would suggest reading the whole series - in order. I enjoyed the story, but there were some references to previous happenings that left me feeling, not that I was lost but that I wished I had read the first four books before this one.

The characters are wonderful! I have to say that Lil (the jukebox) is my

I absolutely love this series and jumped at the chance to read it. I was expecting tonnes of mystery and excitement, in this, the final book in the Dead is series. I was not disappointed that’s for sure.
Dead is not an Option was just as good as the other books in the series and for that I’m glad. I love how the mysteries are always there and I can usually guess what’s going on about halfway into the story. I could do that with Dead is not an Option as well but there were still some surprises.

Daisy Giordano is ready to graduate high school, but several issues interfere with the joyous time. Without any of her college acceptance letters arriving, Daisy starts to get nervous about her future plans. However, a distraction shows up. Plus, the war is spilling into the Giordano home, since Rose and Daisy are dating shifters, while Poppy is dating a vampire. Daisy sets out t ...more

The town of Nightshade is like no other - populated by paranormals such as vampires, werewolves, psychics, and ghosts as well as humans. Mostly, the citizens get along, and for more than 50 years a truce has been formed between the Weres and the Vamps and has held up. However, the Scourge seek to rid the town of all paranormals and are up to their old tricks.

Psychic part-time sleuth Daisy Giordano is finishing up her senior year at Nightshade High. She is fretting over her lack of college accept

This is the first of this series that I have read. I received a copy of this from the publisher, and I can not wait to get the four books that proceeded it! I am very curious about many things, such as where the Scourge (I think of them as the monsters who hide in your closet) came from, and the story behind Slim (Mr. Invisibility). I wish there was a bit more description about some of these fun characters (and a bit less with the kissing).

But, I really enjoyed reading this story. There is actio

Something is happening in Nightshade. Well, when is something NOT happening in Nightshade? Daisy is at the forefront to solve the mystery of why the shifters and vampires are attacking each other.

I enjoyed this book. It was fun, and even had me guessing at what was really going on! One of my biggest complaints about this series is the repetitiveness of the books. Example-Daisy will explain that her boyfriend is always hungry because he is a werewolf. Okay, well, Daisy just told us this 10 pages

Daisy and Rose's boyfriend are werewolves while their sister Poppy's boyfriend is a vampire. The vamps and the werewolves aren't getting along which is causing a problem in Nightshade. Daisy suspects someone else to be the reason for the casualties but she has to find more proof. I like this book because there is a lot of suspense and there is always a problem to be solved and I love a mystery. Although I don't like how long it takes to get to the solution and the last chapter is where the autho ...more

I love the series and i will miss daisy and the others characters the most. I was surprise by the ending and i wanted to know what will happening to ryan and daisy now. But hopefully with Dead is a battlefield and Dead is a killer tune will have them in there for a brief moment.

There is hope, though, for us rabid fans: there will be a spin-off of the Dead Is series with Jessica Walsh - who you'll meet in this book - as the main character! The first two books in the new spin-off series are Dead is a Battlefield and Dead is a Killer Tune. The other piece of good news is that Dead is Not an Option does not disappoint! Dead is Not an Option was a very good wrap up to the Dead is Series. I felt like all my questions had been answered and I can now put this series behind me. Plus I do not have to worry about some dying question! Dying...Dead?! Sorry!

Even though this final installment was quite predictable, I still had a fun time reading it. I don't quite know what draws me to this series, but they're my light, fluffy reads where I enjoy trying to solve the mystery within the first few chapters. I don't mean to b

I’m a fan of the “Dead Is” series and each individual book’s quick read pacing. This is definitely a beach read for those of us that like our books a little darker. This is book 5 of the series and while I wouldn’t recommend reading it without having read the other 4 books, it is possible to understand everything that is going on in this one on its own. The other books just make for a more complete picture, as most in a series will do. Dead is Not an Option isn’t my favorite in the series as I f ...more

First off I want to say this book was great. It had romance, mystery, and a little bit of drama. I wish to become a great author like her and other of my most inspiring authors. I wish to live my life giving readers a chance to go on a journey on the books I write. To inspire others , I'm proud of myself for doing something that I thought was impossible to complete. But I finished the first book of my series "True, Love Story". I am now between the beginning and middle of my second book "True,Lo ...more

I am really sad to see this series go. I have read every single book and loved it. I know that this series is not a popular one, I really wish more people knew about this series because it is good! I love characters, the plots, and the town.

Through the series I have seen Daisy grow. Not only as a person but as a friend, girlfriend, daughter and a learning psychic. She has gone above anything else, putting everyone else before her self. She helped out people when they needed it and she has been t
