I like the premise of this book, but the blurb is very deceptive. Why did there have to be ghosts?? One good benevolent one (Josh, Abby's dead husband) and one possesive one (Krista, Chase's dead wife who is not ready to release her still living husband). That ghostly element demoted the book from three to two stars.

I have to say while this book wasn't terrible it was ridiculous. There was so much potential but between the cheesy romance, forced angst, and lackluster paranormal element it just didn't hit it's mark. The prologue sparked the most emotion from me than the entire book. The sex scenes read choppy and while the words were hot, the steam didn't play out.
I don't mean to be so hard on this book, it really wasn't the worst I've read, I just had such high hopes for it. I enjoyed Chase even t

Abby was married to a NYC firefighter who lost his life on 9-11. They had talked about leaving the city and breeding horses, so Abby took the insurance money and bought a place in Wyoming where she could breed horses. Chase is her neighbor and he lost his wife 2 years ago in a car accident; he trains and breeds horses. When they met Abby and Chase were attracted to each other, but still dealing with the deaths of their spouses. I liked Abby moving to Wyoming, but would have liked more details ...more

Abigail Carter just lost her soul mate, or so she thinks. She was married to a great man. Firefighter, Joshua Carter, was her life until September 11th. Now she is trying to get her life back to normal, really trying, but things are hard right now. She never expected to see him again or have Josh say her real love is in Wyoming very nearby. Only her mother understands what she is going through, yet she feels lost.

Abigail never expected to meet rancher, Chase Wilder. Josh seems to

I purchased this book along with the entire series when I was at Romfest. I was able to meet Sandy Sullivan and she signed the entire series for me. I enjoyed this book. At first Abby being able to see her dead husband an Chases dead wife did freak me out a bit but it made for a great story. Both Abby and Chase lose their spouses in terrible accidents and then find each other. They try to fight their attraction neither one willing to admit they are falling for the other, but can you really ...more

Abigail Carter has relocated to Wyoming with a dream of raising horses and mending a broken heart. Her husband lost his life during the tragic 911 attacks. It's now a little over a year later and she's still refusing to take her wedding band off. Even at the insistence of her dead husbands plead to move on.

When Chase Wilder answered the First Response call for a rollover accident, he never imagined that he'd find is his destiny. With the first pulls of lust, long since given up for dead along w

If you like cute ranch type books – you will love this one. I am not sure what it was about this one that made me read it, but I suspect it is the whole nine eleven event being mentioned in the blurb. I do tend to read books about how people deal with the aftermath of the day and where life takes them in general.

Abigail has moved right across the country to start a new life and carry on with the plan that she and her dead husband had always thought about doing for themselves in a few years. With

First in a series, Ms Sullivan has crafted a fictional family like many that are found in the Big Sky Country--loyalty to the land and to one another. Into this family configuration comes Abigail Carter, a widow of a firefighter who died in the Twin Towers on 9/11. She has come for a new beginning and to leave behind the crush of city living in order to follow a dream that she and her husband had wanted before tragedy intervened. Now she moves in next door to a well-to-do horse breeder whose ...more

Recommends it for: read about a Rancher, a widow and ghosts.
This is the 1st book in the Wilder Series, though, I happened to have read it 3rd. Therefore, I already knew about Chase and Abby. I felt for them both as they both had to deal with a death of a spouse. I thought they made a very good couple with chemistry. From the other books, I knew Abby would get premonitions, so I expected that her "gift" would be part of this story. With that being said, I did not expect her to see and talk to the dead. I really was put off by the Ghost sub-plot in the ...more

Nothing shatters the soul like the loss of your one true love.

So when her bid to move on and rebuild her life seems impossible, Abby decides to move from New York to Wyoming.

Chase has suffered his own tragic loss, and is resigned to live his life day to day, without complications.

However somethings are just meant to be; so can two heartbroken people find the strength to let down their guard, open their hearts and bury the ghosts of the past, and embrace future happiness.

Really quite disappointed in this although these type of books are always a bit hit and miss. You take your chances. Writing style was alright, could have done with out the extended paranormal aspects that were only put in when convenient and petered out very fast at the end. Plus the long internalised conversations the main couple kept having with themselves were a bit annoying too. Chase could have been sexy but he was too busy being angry for too long which just frustrated. Meh.

Throw in a little supernatural and this story is nice. I believe in feeling the spirits of the dead and I was happy to see Josh visiting Abby in Wyoming. I like to believe that he is happy for her moving on and finding love again with another man. Chase Wilder is that man and has to move on also from his wife's death. They are good for each other as they put their past behind them and look to the future with each other.

This story took off in a direction I hadn't expected. I was ok with the spirits/ghosts but they appeared so frequently that they became annoying rather than adding more to the story. I also never really warmed to Chase or bought that he had a strong emotional bond with Abby. He liked having sex with her but I never felt the love. A quick read. At best an ok story.

Words just can't even describe this book! AMAZING! I am so excited to read the rest of Sandy's books!
I thought this was a fairly good book. If you can look over a lot of typos and you would like a smokin hot cowboy to read about you may like this one.

A cute story

This is a great story that involves a little bit of luck, a bit of ghostly intervention, meddling family members and steamy sex. I read this story in one sitting
