As an anthology, it's hard to give one overall rating. The theory of violent pluralisms and a multidisciplinary approach that underlies the book's organization is very powerful and important and resonates with my interdisciplinary understanding of Latin America. I felt, however, that all too often the essays remained surface-level descriptions of a certain form of violence.
