This book is real page-turner, beautifully written with brilliantly-drawn characters. It centres around the story of Allie, as we are drawn into the trials and tribulations of her world: failed marriage; dysfunctional parents - she has to deal with it all. We find ourselves rooting for her as she struggles to make sense of her life. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good yarn with a bit of romance, humour and family drama all chucked in!

This isn't the kind of book I usually buy. In all honesty, I read it because I'd heard about it and it was on offer. However, I enjoyed it very much because the setting, the characters and the constant hints of secrets yet to be revealed keep you reading to find out what the outcome would be. Cornwall is a magical place and the idea of a group of people with troubled pasts all focused on caring for each other under the guidance of a benign, free-spirited mentor appeals to me very much. A very pleasant read

At the start of this novel I felt it was a bit too chick lit but it is more than that and tells a good story with believable characters.

I really enjoyed reading this book. She did a good job with the romance part of the story - a little information, but not too much! What I enjoyed the most was the understanding the main character had with taking control over her life. This character became very believable - and I could understand what she was going through - even rooting for her! It was also interesting how the story came full circle for her. Thanks to Laura for this recommendation!

If you love Cornwall, romance and a great read, Just One More Summer is perfect. Julie McGowan is an excellent storyteller her main character Allie is an complex, flawed women we can all relate to. We find out how she makes sense of her failed marriage, eventually discovering a different way of loving. Each twist and turn of the plot keeps every page turning. The characters draw you in and makes you care for them. An excellent novel.

I really enjoyed this book! It is written in first person and the author did a great job of helping you understand the main character because of it. Not squeaky clean but clean read for me. She wrote about 3 sentences into the bedroom and then left it at that. Entertaining and enjoyable!
