Short modern fiction with a very McSweeney's feel, charmingly packaged in a free ebook.
If this sounds enjoyable to you, your time is definitely not wasted with these 2 off-kilter stories. Worst-case scenario: you become a fan of Hanas and your'e out ~$10 when you buy the collection these were taken from.

Jim Hanas' engaging vignettes demonstrate a skill for characterization, conversation and observation, as well as a firm grasp on what makes short fiction work. Literary but never pretentious, both stories whisper volumes about the human condition without ever letting it become the focus. Recommended!
PS: I read this on the Goodreads iPhone app and it was a rather pleasant experience, equal to the more established apps that get all of the attention.
