I am just beginning my study of the macrobiotic diet, and I chose this book to help me get an overview. While it did explain the principles of yin and yang, and the five seasons, it didn't get much deeper into the philosophy behind the lifestyle. In fact, it really didn't discuss the lifestyle much at all; those topics were relegated to an appendix at the end of the book.

Yum! These recipes are really delicious. I really like the portobello mushroom and garbanzo bean stew. So yummy over some Jasmine rice.
