I was immediately hooked. It is full of dramatic adventure that kept my on my toes. Though its a companion to Aurelia which I read when it came out a few years ago, you do not need to have read it to fully enjoy Exile. Aurelia and Robert are on the run to explore the whole country of Tyralt, discovering new cultures and attracting new dangers at every page. Her sister, Melony is working with the Queen to pursue the assassination of Aurelia. By the way the last page leaves you hanging, you can te More...

This story picks up right where Aurelia left off and you won’t really understand this story without having read the first one. Robert and Aurelia have discovered that the person behind the assassination attempts is Aurelia’s half sister Melony. Aurelia has just left the capital to tour the country and she hopes to get to know her people as well as remove herself from any lingering danger. Not long into their journey they discover that the danger has not passed, and Aurelia is still being hunt More...

The Crown Princess has been exiled from her home of Tyralt. With the handsome and often times brooding Robert as her guide, how can things go wrong? Well, they do. This story takes us on an adventure traveling to the many regions Aurelia should one day rule over. She gets to meet new people and see how her future subjects live- and is none too happy about it. She is shocked to see the injustices everywhere and can't believe that the king would allow such things to happen. The book is wonderfully More...

Still recuperating from the shock of her attempted assassination and her father’s refusal to believe in her stepsister’s role in it, crown princess Aurelia now faces exile. Guided by Robert, her childhood friend, Aurelia embarks upon her dream expedition to traverse the kingdom of Tyralt. Her journey makes her come face to face with the plight of the people, making her question the laws and justice of the kingdom controlled by her father. As she braves unruly crowds and the harsh terrains, the t More...

This just felt like a "filler" until the third book. I'm still not exactly sure what the whole purpose of the expedition was. True, Aurelia was visiting those places so she could get a feel for the people in her kingdom, but then what? She knows her sister is plotting her death and that things aren't right back at the castle, I guess I just felt like it would have been more believable if the expedition was being used to form outside alliances instead of just observing. It almost seemed More...

In this stunning sequel, Princess Aurelia has been exiled from the kingdom of Tyralt. Together with Robert, she faces betrayal and danger in strange lands. Exile is a wild ride that I didn’t want to get off.

There are several facets to Princess Aurelia and Robert’s journey. It is a journey of survival as Princess Aurelia must escape the step-sister who wants her dead. It is also a journey of love as Princess Aurelia and Robert realize that they have strong feelings for each other. Fin More...

I'm a little disappointed from this book. I expected more and I think there won't be another book for now, so the series must have end more completed.

The future of Tyralt is still unknown, so is the future of Aurelia and Robert.

And the relationship of Aurelia and Robert wasn't explained and written good enough.

And the book for itself was a little boring and slow in places.

I hope Anne Osterlund to decide to read another book so the series have some complete More...

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Exile. The plot and story line was straightforward. Although I did wished for more twists and turns in the story, I like the way Anne Osterlund keeps the reader guessing about the end of the story. The end of the book is not the way you wished it to be; it is not a happily ever after ending (a hint to a sequel?). I find that a good thing because it is refreshing to read a book which for once, does not have the happily ever after ending. I’ve read quite a few books in More...

I liked this second book more then the first. It had a faster pace and much more character development.I loved the two main characters who go through a lot and learn to deal with what has happened and trying to find out who they are. This book was darker then the first a lot more violence and their relationship changes to boyfriend girlfriend and their is kissing and more but it is not gone into detail.Still I would recommend this book for 16 and up. This is not the conclusion to Aurelia's story More...

If all else had failed, I could have said the cover was beautiful. But no, the story lived up to (if not exceeded) the beauty of its cover. The characters were as dynamic as the landscape they traversed, an essential quality to a book that often is not produced successfully. The romance was believable and completely realistic, the character's thoughts and experiences ranging from humorous to terrifying. This was one of those books that, while I'm reading, I laugh out loud, or gasp, or cry. More...

I was at 3.75stars with this story and rounded up.

In the 2nd installment for this YA series, Aurelia & Robert are fulfilling her dream of seeing the kingdom of Tyralt. On their adventure they learn more. More about Tyralt; depth of betrayal; the pain of secrets; the beauty of the land around them and the pangs of falling in love. There are plenty of treats along the way because you visit with some of the people from book one; see more into the intrigue of the royal family; meet new More...

Exile moved along a bit slower than its predecessor, but still contained many of the qualities that made Aurelia so enjoyable. The beautiful and loving descriptions are definitely still present (my childhood adoration of horses never ended...); I really want to see the Geordian horses! The romance was here, although a bit more frustrating than before. The cuteness of the initial attraction is gone and now Robert and Aurelia are getting all dramatic and overthinking absolutely everything. Plus, t More...

I read Aurelia ages and ages ago, but I remembered enjoying it. Despite the fact that I did not like the author’s second book, Academy 7, I still decided to pick this one up. It took me forever to get around to reading this because I wanted to reread Aurelia before jumping into the sequel. I recently had the time to reread Aurelia, which I fell in love with all over again. Then I dove right into this and it quickly earned a place on my favorites list.

I loved the first book, Aurelia, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Exile. I really wanted to know what would happen to Aurelia and Robert and everyone else. I was expecting to like Exile. I wasn’t sure how it was going to be no matter how excited I was about it. I got Exile. I read Exile. And I loved it more than Aurelia.

Thoughts from the author (and Aurelia):

Exile began with Aurelia, of course.

She has always insisted on a sequel to her first book—at least as far back as I can recall.

Though, technically, I started typing the initial draft of Exile the weekend after my first submission deadline for Academy 7.

Vroom! We were off—Robert, Aurelia, and I, thundering through their expedition.

Of course, there were certain things Aurelia didn’t inform me More...

SOOO GOOD!!!!!!

Mii Books:
This is just as good, if not better than the first one. Aurelia and Robert are on their adventures and their relationship grows... ALOT. I love Aurelia and LOVE Robert. My friends and I have been making top 5 lists of guys from books that we like and Robert is on that list. He is the perfect match for Aurelia. God, I freaking loved this book. Fantastic prose, loved the character development and all the emotional upheaval will make your heart ache. Summary: In this companion to Aurelia, Aurelia has managed to escape the palace walls with her life and has embarked on a tour of her country accompanied by the ever loyal Robert and a guard. As she begins exploring though, she discovers deep miscarriages of justice, extreme poverty and violence, and fears about her future and the future of her country.

My thoughts:
I loved this book!!! It was a great continuation of the book Aurelia, I think. The only problem, it didn't really end... Don't get me wrong, it didn't end with a big cliff hanger, just one high enough to make you wish a third book was at the bottom so the fall now would be worth it.

Questions:
Is she victorious? Does she get her half-sister thrown off the throne? Do she and Robert truly end up together? Or does tradition stand and she have to marry the Heir of More...

One Word: Beautiful.

I didn't think I could like this book even more than Aurelia, but I am honored to say that it is possible. I loved it and felt more connected to the characters. A layer of Aurelia was uncovered, I got to see a side of her that I had never seen before, her most inner thoughts were so breath-taking and honest, there was so much realism in this imaginative fantasy world. I Loved, Loved, Loved this book and keeping my fingers crossed for another?!

I won't lie. I have had this book all summer long. I have been avoiding reading this, just like Harry Potter 6 & 7 and just like A Conspiracy of Kings. It's what I seem to do when I find I don't want an awesome saga to end. I haven't finished HP6 because I know book 7 is the end. I know that there will be at least one more book from Whalen-Turner, but who knows when she'll get around to it. And because I thought this was a sequel, I didn't want Aurelia's story to end. She was raised to rule her people, learning etiquette and diplomacy and above all duty, surrounded by luxury and privilege. But Aurelia Lauzon's life has been anything but cozy and pampered. At the age of three she witnessed the death of her older brother and suffered not only the grief of his loss but subsequent abandonment by her mother. It's been quite a long time since I've read Exile's predesor, but I remember really enjoying it. As it turns out, I really liked Exile, too.

Like I said, it's been a long time since I read Aurelia, but I was able to get into Exile withough difficulty. The book is very fast paced, so it was very easy to get into.

This isn't like most historical fiction. It was a fun adventure, and one that I really enjoyed. I really liked experiencing the journey with Aurelia and Robert.
