Although I've always loved tawdry manga tales featuring
Japanese male hosts catering to established, older women,
this anthology offered more some to the 'themes' I've come to associate with those books.
Rich Girls Do Cry is the jewel of this trio. While the two additional stories hold their own, Rich Girls deserves to be recognized for the innovative, original and progressive story it proved to be. I was thrilled to read this type of story, and pleased at how well this author handled it from begi...more

I bought this book and in two days I finished it, so good I just couldn't put it down. I thought "A Holiday to Remember" was fantastic, but this was better. The first story "Rich Girls Cry Too" just blew me away and I'm quite jealous I didn't come up with it first, and is my favorite story of all three. It would've been better if it was a longer and a novel of its own. Seeing how the author came up with ways to incorporate Japanese hosting to the stories was very interesting because it wasn't cli...more

This review is only for the first story, Rich Girls Cry Too
Shiree McCarver is an author whose work I have enjoyed in the past. When I read that she'd written a love story between a black heroine and a Japanese transgendered hero I *Squeed* with joy. Oh, this had to be good!! Good lawd please let it be good.
I'm going to start off with what I liked. Rich Girls Cry Too is the story of Lizzie and Yume who were childhood friends in boarding...more

I was in the mood to re-read this and I'm glad I did so now I can pen a fuller review. While the last two stories in this anthology were so-so (and the middle vampire one was a pretty yawn-worthy vampire erotica, though the last story about a very different Host Club was sexy and cute), it is the first story Rich Girls Cry Too which truly sets a high standard for edgy and unexpected romance--a Shiree McCarver trademark, along with her penchant for Asian male romantic heroes paired with black fem...more
I am dropping this book. I didn't like the first story at all. I just can't get into it and I don't care about the characters at all.
I just got through reading "Dirty Little Scerets" and i have to tell you that I loved it. My favorite story among them was Rich Girls Cry Too. .. OMG. It was so unexpected, yet, sensuous. Well done. Lately I've been fascinated with Asian men, and those stories just add to the lore for me. . . .a job WELL DONE!
I actually though i would never finish this book there a three story into one book I really like the one and last story. the first story was inspirational, spite what other though of about the hero he manage to get the heroine in the end.
the last story pretty say there is someone for everyone.
