Oh! Thank heavens! This books seems to be the end of the lab breeding back story--I liked it but there is only so much you can say and only so much mystery while still keeping it interesting for the reader. I was thrilled with the new developments in this book.

Without giving too much away, Riley goes undercover into Starr's "compound" as part of the entertainment for the men serving Starr--there is a little more to it that meets the eye. I thought she was just going in as, well...a prostitute--n...more

This book sucked the big cheese. I'm am in no way a prude but it's a little hard to take your heroine seriously when she is running around naked the ENTIRE book. How awkward. Esp. when she's constantly fighting gladiator style. The whole time I thought; "well, I guess it's a good thing she doesn't have balls or a hairy ass crack."

**SPOILERS**

Let's see... Riley is raped, beaten, abused, oh yeah & the best yet....going to have naked mud wrestling as an "arena whore" for her arch nemesis. And n...more

I've read mixed reviews on this series but I did like this book. Riley is part of the team investigating genetic experiments being carried out on shifters and Riley manages to get a job inside the offender's mansion as a fighter-entertainment for rich lunatics to enjoy watching. Once inside Riley is trying to find the main labs through psychic exploration of her guards minds during sex, locate a child hostage and help a race of creatures to escape, all without raising suspicion. But her fellow f...more

I did enjoy this book but some parts of it went right thru me and the storyline started to bore me a little but the ending of this book was great took a nice little twist that got me interested again, hopefully the next book will start a new story.
Riley to me has lost her spark from the first book and i am goin to take a break from these for abit and then come back to them

Come gongolo.

Riley Jenson, you kick butt!

I usually find that most series that end up as my favorites, it’s usually book 3 that seems to be the magic number. And that is once again the case with Riley Jenson. I really enjoyed book 1 and 2, but book 3 just lifted this series onto my favorite’s shelf.

I love the paranormal world Riley lives in. It’s different and unique. The promiscuity of the wolves and how that behavior is acceptable in their society makes me look at Riley’s actions a little differently. I l...more

Again with the Quinn! I really like him even if he tends to be a pain in the butt about her being a werewolf and therefore not monogamous. He’s been told and yet he continually has to be a pain about it.

And now there is Kellen who is so much fun and seems so sweet and really likes her and wants only her in the wolf-soul mate kind of way which is the only way Riley will be monogamous. This would be why a vampire like Quinn is out of the question and yet the draw to him. I’m thinking they are soul...more

This is the third book in the Riley Jenson series and I have mixed feelings about it. This book starts right where it left off with Riley – half vampire, half werewolf – in training with the Directorate to become a guardian. She is getting ready for her first mission to take down Deshon Starr, a criminal who has been making his own creations by mixing DNA from humans and non humans. She has to infiltrate his compound along with her partners, Kade, Rhoan, Quinn, and take him out! This novel is ve...more

I can't quite put my finger on what makes me enjoy the series more than many other 5+ book urban fantasy series out there, but there is something good at work here. I enjoyed Tempting Evil immensely, and I'm glad I read it. This novel picks up right where the last one left off. Riley is training to be a guardian (whether she likes it or not) so that she can infiltrate the lair of the man behind the labs and killings mentioned in the previous novels. The action and suspense don't let up the entir...more

A fun sort of read about a dhampir with an outrageous sex drive.
I love how it is set in Melbourne, Australia (my home town), and the writing quality is great. It never seems to get too clunky; except in the really drawn out sex scenes.
Riley, a Guardian, is continuing a quest to stop a madman from creating a mutant army. Although kicking some serious butt she beds just about every male character in the story.
What I did notice with Arthur's story line is that if:
a) A woman is semi naked, and
b) The...more

Just as Riley is accepting that her life is leading her into being a guardian, she is thrust into her first undercover operations. Although her need to see this through is what has kept her going these past months, she may not be ready for what she discovers.

With the timetable moved up, Riley has just completed minimal training from the Directorate before she must go undercover to the man who is behind the gene breeding, Deshon Starr.

As feared, the drugs given to her by Talon start showing side...more

This was perhaps the best instalment so far in the Riley Jensen Guardian Series. The plot had more depth than previous books in the series, less sex and more story. Not that sex didn't feature, this is a Riley Jensen story after all.

This time round both Riley and her brother Rhoan infiltrate the enemies lair and the danger stakes rise significantly. Although our protagonist spent the better half of the book nude - and I have read other reviews where readers were put off by this - I felt the stor...more

I liked it less then the previous book in the series. The premise was a little harder to get into. I get that this is not to be taken seriously and a big point of this books is to have lots of sex scenes but Riley running around naked for the most of the book - and it making sense for the organization to enforce that and all, was kind of a stretch.
I still rather like Riley (more so than Anita Blake, who other reviews seem to be comparing her to). And most of the side characters. Quinn still d...more

Tempting Evil is pretty morbid. I loved it!

Infiltrating the grounds as whores and arena fighters, toys for the crossbred freaks with interesting body part accessories, and sexual sadists who apparently enjoy raping women not only when they're screaming in fear and pain, but also as they are knocked out unconscious.

It's time! Riley and Rhoan, along with the other sexy studs and vampires, receive enough intel that they are ready to wiggle into the completely screwed world of a psychohomosexual who...more

About the book:
Riley Jensen is a unique blend of supernatural, half-werewolf, half-vampire. In this book, she is sent on her very first mission as a Guardian to help the Directorate, an organization that polices supernatural beings. Her mission is to infiltrate the compound owned by a madman who is behind a string of labs trying to create the perfect paranormal soldier - strong and disposable. She's had very little training, especially since she has new abilities developing all of a sudden, but...more

This book, actually this series is not for everyone. The subject matter dealt with can be offensive to anyone that cannot put aside their own personal feeling about sex and using ones body to achieve their goals. This particular book has scenes of rape and hand to hand combat death matches. It's not all about romance, rainbows and unicorns. Although some of the lab born creatures may well be part unicorn, who knows? Anyway, if you're squeamish about nudity, women's lib, sex, rape, humanoid type...more

Notes while currently reading :

I'm really having trouble with Riley, I just want to slap her and put some good sense in her head ! I liked the first book of the series, strong-willed heroin, hot vamp, genetic manipulations, suspense and all. And sex. But she's getting whiny, complains all the time, rants at others and wonders why she has trouble making friends (duh !).
At the point I've reached, she's having sex with a horse-shifter in front of her jealous possessive vampire lover. In the middle...more
Sleepy Wonderland
I am beginning to wonder if I even should have bothered. The main character Riley was an army to herself, and had to sell her body for intelligence. Very different from book one of the series where she felt like a whore. I don't like how free she was in this one, meaning she wore like no clothing for the job. Though I do like how the story arc from the previous books finally ended, but I found it difficult to focus when I felt awkward for the character.

I would not suggest this book to my friends...more

Riley has taken the final step and become a fully fledged Guardian for the Directorate of Other Races, she still isn't sure that it is for the best but she wants to be part of the team that takes down Deshon Starr. Her first mission isn't going to be easy - it is up to her to infiltrate Deshon's stronghold and try to discover where his secret labs are hidden so that the DOR can destroy them. While deep undercover she is going to have to be wary about who she trusts but she will also find friends...more

Well, well, well... I can honestly say that I am really enjoying this series. Riley is a character unlike any other that I've read in that she's probably the most promiscuous. But that is a human term and you can't really call a wolf promiscuous, can you? Regardless of her "style", she's a force to be reckoned with. She's gone undercover for the Directorate to find out more about the labs and the mastermind behind them. She faces some creepy fellows and finds herself having to perform m...more

The 3rd installment of the Riley Jenson series was as entincing as the first two novels. The story picks up where the 2nd book left off, Riley is about to find the person who has been behind all the cloning and who had kidnapped her. And like Misha said in the last book, she somehow...more

Just finished Tempting Evil (Riley Jensen, #3) by Keri Arthur (★★★★). This is a borderline erotica urban fantasy series featuring half-werewolf, half-vampire, Aussie, Riley Jensen. Riley and her twin brother work for a paranormal policing agency known as The Directorate. Each book is a new piece of a larger mission for Riley and her friends.

This particular book has Riley infiltrating a large event at the home of the local mafia boss. The espionage/spy angle is exciting and well-done. There's no...more

This took a while for me to get through, in part because for a few weeks there I had lost my taste for reading. But the other night I picked it back up and relished it once again, glad to be back with this series. For the most part.

The story is largely phenomenal. I'm glad we've wrapped up the genetic story line. Perhaps it's naive of me, but I absolutely did not expect such an abrupt ending. This is not a criticism of it because I think it fi...more

I hated putting this book down, at timeS it was so charged with tension. I think this series just gets better even if it is more blood thirsty.

Riley is being sent undercover to Deshon Starr’s compound to help the Directorate of Other Races find the lab where experiments in DNA are being held so it can be destroyed. Again she runs into a few more non human creatures and has to fight he way through. She also agrees to help a couple of people that Jack (her boss) would prefer her not to but since w...more

It's hard to like a book when you don't really like the main character: Riley Jenson. All she seems to do (from the 1st book all the way through the 4th book - Dangerous Games) is complain, complain, and COMPLAIN about how she doesn't want to be a Guardian, and how she thinks her lover Quinn is too narrow-minded when he doesn't want her to have sex indiscrimmiantly. "Oh, boo-hoo, my boyfriend doens't want me to have sex with other men!" And the sex scenes are not even that good: there's no real...more
