Usually, Green's books don't affect me much because he doesn't delve deep into his characters' emotions; death, dismemberment and pain are a part of the world of Nig...more...

The roots of the story are shadowed, ironically, by the increased weight that the narrator has to face, based on the previous mythos as established by the other books.
The whole Nightside series is kind of meh... there are funny lines, but the funny lines tend to repeat themselves, over and over and over again in each book. Hell to Pay is the post-Lilith book that plenty of people bitch about, but really, it's my favorite of the series. No babbling about John Tayl...more...

This was a surprising follow up to the the last book, which read like it was the final chapter of the Nightside Saga. Hell to Pay starts a whole new series of questions and plot lines for the Nightside, John Taylor, and his friends and enemies. It also ends with a very promising storyline for the ...more...
