This is a fun and helpful book which describes many different ways to bring happiness in our daily life. The recommendations and tips expressed in this book are simple, yet helpful, uplifting, and quite easy to apply to our everyday life. I appreciate that the facts, theories and tips included in this book come from different parts of the world and different faiths. I am definitely going to apply some of these recommendations to my own life. A great book to come across and utilize whenever neede...more
50 bite sized suggestions for feeling happier. Quite simple, but effective suggestions. Perhaps a bit simplistic in both delivery and scope for those suffering from depression, but I'm sure some of the suggestions would be helpful. An good introduction to lots of ideas and of course you can always Google if more information is required. My favorite part are the pictures for each tip they are clever and original.
If you're familiar with cognitive behavioral therapy, this book will all seem pretty familiar, and I guess it's a good refresher to remind yourself of the habits/techniques from CBT. If you're not familiar with CBT, this book will probably seem pretty simplistic and not very useful, I'd guess (In fact, the second of the "50 ways" is "try cognitive behavior therapy." It's a quick read so it can't really hurt to give it a whirl.
I read the ebook version of this on my Nook tablet. Loved it! The advice is simple. There's nothing earth-shattering here, but it's presented in a clear, reader-friendly way. The ideas are presented in small bites with a call to action ending each one which makes them feel very doable. Liked it so much I bought the ebook.
Very nice illustrations. Healthy advice that you can get from other sources, but this is an attractive package.

Subtitled "50 Proven Ways to Feel Happier", this book lists 100 Simple Secrets in its list of recommended reading, so don't think these are fifty additional ways. There is some overlap, but that just makes sense; there are some very definite ways to be happier and everyone should mention these in a book about being happy.
