Everything about the beginning of this book is amazing, when it's all Hustle and no Vatican. In the vein of blaxploitation films, we meet Boss Karate Black Guy Jones, who's awesomeness is so over-the-top that it can't be anything but amazing. After 20 pages or so, I was hip to the jive, ready for a modern blaploitation feature in the line of Black Dynamite. Plenty of funny bits, but the plot seems to fall apart in the middle and doesn't re-coup by the end.
