Decent GFY plot around a psychic (Paul) who's called in to help solving a serial child-killer case and gets together with the investigating cop (D'Marco). Insta-lust for both the gay psychic and the straight cop. Insta-solve to the case once the psychic actually gets to work on it (After he is called in, he doesn't get to do anything than sit around and moon over the cop for the longest time). And the poor editing drove me nuts!

Bonus point for some really intense tender moments between the psyc...more

I read Leiland Dale's book When the Bluebird Calls and loved it. But Paul's D'Marco is a different story altogether. One that I love, if possible, even more than Bluebird. I think part of the reason that it appeals so much to me is the suspense element. I love suspense / thrillers and Leiland Dale's imbued Paul's D'Marco with suspense galore... it doesn't hurt that it's got cops in it, either.

Then there's the romance; whew! Extremely sexy and H-O-T, I loved the development of the relationshi...more

The synopsis in this page is wrong, here is one from the seller:

Impressive story, would like to read more stories on these 2 characters! What the heck, basically Leiland is doing a bang up job with his writing so far and I'm definitely looking out for more stories and look forward to reading more from him.

:two thumbs up:

I bought this book in January and had it on my kindle but did not finish reading; As i was not in the mood to read a book with a medium as one of the MCs

However this time i read it and enjoyed it. Matt is a cop, and is getting divorced and he has a child. At work Matt's needs to find a serial killer; Enter Paul, he is a medium, who is brought in to help break the case.

Matt and Paul are forced to work together and the relationship becomes something both were not prepared for.

The story has a num...more

The plot of this crime story is quite common, police detective has to investigate on a child serial killer and he has no leads. Mourning sensitive arrives from out of the city to help him solve the case. So far nothing new.

Probably the most interesting thing of all the story is the development of it, told in first point of view from both Matt, the detective, and Paul, the sensitive, and the rarefied atmosphere. Despite the cruel crimes both men witness, there is no “splattering” effect, both th...more

I loved this *gay for you* story and devoured it in one sitting. Told in first person, there is a thoughtful progression to the central relationship which I really enjoyed. I would really like to see more of this couple, exploring their relationship and the *seeing* abilities. 4.5 stars...

Ok short m/m romantic suspense about a police detective and the psychic that's called in to help the police find a serial child killer. A titch more editing and fleshing out the story would've moved this from ok to good.

Interesting pov- first person present tense, and it alternated between the two main characters. Not something I've experienced before, but effective. Simple little mystery and a nice love story. Enjoybale reading.

Good plot, good character development. Unfortunately, the author and the editors need to pay more attention to punctuation and sentence structure - these issues intruded on my enjoyment of the story.

The bad guy: Was predictable
Abrupt ending.
A lot of good ideas but everything falls flat.

I did like it. The first pages were incredible good mystery/police story. I like the relationship between Matt and Paul and that they did not rush to bed, they sort of developed a relationship, the thing a did not like was that the story sort of ended too suddenly, with no development at all, it just ended. In a couple of pages they catch the bad guy, resolves any differences between Matt and the ex-wife and everybody was happy. I was a little bit disappointed.

I liked the idea of this book more than its execution. Everything needed to be more developed from the characterization, the mystery/plot to the romance. The pacing was off and too fast and that's why it felt like instant attraction, lust, love & instantaneous mystery solved. We never got a chance to fall in love with the characters or to delve into the story.

Probably the best book Leiland Dale has written. Being written in first person Improves the quality of the writing ten fold for this author.

I can probably stop saying "romantic suspense is not my thing" now. I've seem to have both accidentally and on purpose read a few this year. All of which I've liked. This was no exception. My only complaint was that it was short (yes, I know it was a novella) because I wanted more of the story. If you like m/m rom susp, definitely check this one out.

Leiland's reading list is exemplary of the evolution of erotic romance. Initially, Leiland began reading Harlequin Romance and Silhouette Desire but later transitioned to Silhouette Nocturne. But after reading the first M/M erotic romance, tons of M/M material soon followed. As an avid reader, Leiland decided one day to take a stab at writing a book. These days, when not writing something new, Lei...more
