I did learn one useful thing from this book: pilafs (which I love) can be finished in the rice cooker. the actual rice cooker recipes are good, but there is a lot of filler- non-rice cooker recipes (I have a whole wall of books for that, mmmk) and quite a few that are basically "make rice in rice cooker, do all this other stuff on the stovetop, then mix it all together", which isn't really what I was after.
But it's good for the basics of making different types of basic dishes in your rice cooker.

Beth Hensperger is one of my favorite cookbook authors, and my children love rice dishes. So this one was a no brainer. One of the best ideas from this book was making different breakfast grain dishes in the rice cooker.

still deciding whether to get one. According to this book there are so many different ways to use your rice cooker, but how likely am I to ever use it for anything other than plain rice?

I can't rate this book a 5 because I haven't cooked enough of the recipes yet. I highly recommend the leeks and wild rice recipe. Fantastic!
