TEAR THIS HEART OUT – Mexican writer, Angeles Mastretta. The story of Catalina and her husband Generalissimo Andres Ascensio, 1940’s Mexico after the Revolution. How she holds her own with his ambition, brutality, whoring. Funny and rough. Another fine, albeit second level, Latin writer.

Crazy story, sad too, but really good! Gives great insight to politics and life in Mexico at the turn of the 20th century.

This is a powerful and titillating look at a woman imprisoned.
