I am currently reading Judy Moody Saves the World by: Megan McDonald! This book is both very interesting and persausive because it tells interestingly how Judy Moody saves the world. If you read it then you know how to save the world because it showed how Judy Moody did it! Therefore, it is persausive! Her class is on a what I would call a mission to find indangered insects and help them so they don't become more indangered. They each get a signed a insect and let me just tell you I was surprise...more

Judy Moody is nothing if not committed - when she gets a goal in her head, Judy puts 100% of herself into meeting that goal. Sometimes that means she goes a little overboard though and when saving the world is your goal, that means trouble! Judy's teacher is doing a unit on the environment and conservation and Judy is determined to do her part - whether that means releasing her brother's pet toad into the "wild" or hiding all the pencils in her classroom so that the rainforest won't be cut down....more

The story begins with a design-your-own Crazy Strips Band-aid contest but quickly becomes focused on ways in which a third grader can help save the planet. It's full of third-grade science factoids and funny situations. At one point, Judy decides to live in her tree as an act of protest, until she is cleverly lured down by her younger brother with what he says are the results of the Crazy Strips contest. In the end, Judy and the rest of her classmates, with the help of their science teacher, act...more

i liked this book it gave some handy tips on how i could help save the rainforest. . A young girl called Judy Moody was shocked to hear about the corruption that happens in the rainforest(in s.o.s.e class) and was then determined that she was going to stop it. she started doing all types of things like collecting bottles, sorting through garbage and done things with her class etc.. she soon learns that it is very hard to get everyone to help but yet never gave up,her family and friends were soon...more

Judy Moody gets better and better. With each book I read, I am more impressed with the storytelling abilities of Megan McDonald and Peter H Reynolds. Their ability to capture family life, with all its quirks, is amazing. They also do an incredible job of capturing friendships and a child's enthusiasm for something that grabs their attention. And in this book, that is protecting the environment. It all starts in science class and the section on the environment.

Nobody plunges in with everything they have more than Judy Moody! Her teacher, Mr. Todd, is teaching the students about the environment and conservation. Being the extremist that she is Judy takes everything to heart that Mr. Todd tells them. She tries moving into a tree in her yard, returning her brothers frog Toady back to nature, and riding her house of anything that could have come from the rainforest. Her father's coffee and mother lipstick included. Finally an idea to help raise money to p...more

Just like the image on the illustrated cover, "Judy Moody Saves The World" will encourage kids to stand strong and tall for environmental causes. Judy proves that tenacity prevails, as she fights the attitudes of her friends, school and family to make daily changes that will bring about community awareness, as well as protection to the rainforest. She succeeds in bringing the community together to accomplish her goals, showcasing the power of one and all, together. Recommended for readers aged 7...more

We read this book aloud. The kids were really interested and we learned lots of new vocabulary words. It was about recycling and saving the planet.....Sam rolled his eyes ALOT whenever he was around and we were reading it. It was really heavy handed on we are destroying the planet. I was glad we read it aloud so we could discuss those things together.

This month I read Judy Moody Saves the World. Judy Moody books are my favorite! They always make me laugh. But, this particular book was very educational! Judy and her brother, Stink, wanted to win a contest by making their very own band-aid. But, in the end Judy found out a lot of problems with the rain forest. Judy wanted help in a creative and "out side of the box" way! Will Stink and Judy win the contest? Will things go wrong with Judy's way to help the rain forest? Read and find out this t...more

Stories like Judy Moody keep my kids wanting to read and I love that. After they finish the story they have a smile on their face, and in a couple of weeks when I ask them if they would like to read another Judy Moody book I know they will be excited to read it. It’s a great book for the two of my kids because, for starters it just reads well for them both the words are easy enough for them to read it when it’s their turn to read, but not so simple that there is no challenge for them. The story...more

Judy Moody learns that being good to the environment can save the world! First she starts by doing things at her home like recycling, but eventually this causes chaos! She was unable to come up with a design for the crazy strips band-aid contest, and this was disappointing to her because she collected band-aids. She also wanted to win the roller skates along her design on hundreds of band-aids. One day two letters came to her house from the crazy strips company, and her brother won the contest!...more

Judy Moody is a third grader that wants to enter to win the band aid contest. The only thing that is stopping her is that she cannot come up with a brilliant idea that would have her stand out. One day when she was in class, her teacher was talking about the rainforest. Judy decided that she needed to do something to help save the rainforest. She goes around to everyone in her family and tells them that they needed to stop chewing gum, drinking coffee, and using lip stick because all of those t...more

Judy Moody Save the World is an exciting book that offers many educational advice dealing with environmental issues. I like the inspiration that this book leaves you with. If a younger girl like Judy Moody can make a stance, be known, and make the change she strived for, than so can anyone! I enjoy the subtle, rare references to famous/inspirational people of the past and of the present time. Also, the book reveals multiple layers of issues that encompass environmental concern. It goes beyound l...more

I read "Judy Moody Was in a Mood. Not a Good Mood. A Bad Mood." This book dealt with issues of best friends, little brothers who can be annoying, first day of school and people you don't like. Judy was not excited about her first day of school because she hadn't thought she did anything exciting this summer and would have nothing to share. She learned how to make the best of this situation and share stories that she had and dealt with sitting next to the one boy she did not want to sit next too....more

When Judy first day of school and people she don't like. Judy was not excited about her first day of school because she hadn't thought she did anything exciting this summer and would have nothing to share. She learned how to make the best of this situation and share stories that she had and dealt with sitting next to the one boy she did not want to sit next too( that is the people she do not like). Judy Moody's class is studying the environment, whipping Judy into a frenzy of activism. Initially, in a very Judy way, she initially turns to her home, causing chaos with her mining of the family trash to ensure nothing recyclable or reusable is thrown away. Eventually, Judy channels that energy into something productive, leading her class on a recycling drive with the profits going to plant trees in the Amazon. But little does Judy know that her efforts are going to get her more notoriety than...more

Judy Moody Saves the World
Judy always likes to get involved with something. Like saving the world. She has a club called he Toad Pee Club. The members are Judy, Rocky, Frank and Stink, but stink is not really in it any more. Ok so, Judy let the mascot go to save the world ( the mascot is the toad). The next day Judy stole everybody's pencils. People were mad at Judy but she said lets save the world and use pens. they agreed to save the world but they had a new idea. they collected bottles and an...more

The book that started it all -- this is the one that made the Paré household "GO GREEN"! My kids are so into saving the earth, recycling, etc., and most of it is due to this book!

My kids LOVE Judy Moody & her younger brother Stink! These are great books to read out loud to your early elementary (4K-2nd grade) kids -- and the older elementary kids will love to read these to themselves. A friend who teaches 5th grade recommended these books for my kids, and she was right-on in her recommendati...more

Rare! We really like the Judy Moody series and although we've skipped around a bit, we are now working our way through the rest of the books in order. We like Judy's spunk, and I think our girls can empathize with her feelings. She is a very creative and spontaneous character and we love her interaction with her family, teachers and friends. Although she can be a bit impulsive and get into trouble, I know that our girls can empathize with her enthusiasm and creativity. I love that it shows how c...more

I loved the all Judy Moody books when I was kid! They were always so adventurous and interesting. Megan really knows hot to write books for kids withour making them too complicated or too easy. The illustrations are really good to. When I was a kid, I would always try to draw and recreate the pictures. I really love Judy's cat, Mouse?,. It's just that he's? always there randomly.Stink was amazing character too. Smart and funny. I find it hilarious that a parent would name there kid Stink. I love...more

I got the series when I was a bit younger and enjoyed the first two books but now I'm older I found the third quite tedious so I would recommend it if you are about 7-10 .

I really like this story. I like the way the author gives an introduction of the characters in the beginning of the book. I believe that by familiarizing the readers with the characters before they start help the reader get a better understand of everyone’s part throughout the story. Talking about connecting to the reader and getting them involved in the story. In this age of going green the author introduces the readers to fun and different methods of getting involved at a young age and helping...more

I had never read a Judy Moody book before this year. I read this book with my reading buddy. She loves all the Judy Moody books. It reminded me of the Junnie B. Jones books except for the made up words and grammar malfunctions. In this book, Judy Moody is trying to save the world by recycling, using pens instead of pencils, and collecting cans. She will stop at nothing. This would be a great book to read around the time of Earth Day to teacher children, mainly girls but boys too, that one person...more

"Sometimes I think I am Judy Moody," says Megan McDonald, author of the Judy Moody series, the Stink series, and THE SISTERS CLUB. "I'm certainly moody, like she is. Judy has a strong voice and always speaks up for herself. I like that."

For Megan McDonald, being able to speak up for herself wasn't always easy. She grew up as the youngest of five sisters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her father, an...more
