This is a sweet tale about a little bird who finds a red, juicy strawberry that she wants to bring home to her grandmother. She encounters a few difficulties, but several animals come to her aid. Problem solving, sacrifice and creativity are all depicted in this tale. The illustrations are colorful and fun and I thought this was a good book to read on Granparent's Day. We enjoyed reading this book together.

Helpful animals get together to aid a bird who wants to give her grandmother a perfect gift. When a nasty alligator comes along, the friends save the day. Lovely illustrations, a nice message, and just enough action to keep everyone engaged. Great for reading aloud to K-2 kids.

Sweet story, interesting (and very shiny!) illustraions. Not my favorite picture book of the year, but I know I will enjoy reading it to Mackenzie.
