Madison saw her mothers murder in her mind and physically felt her terror. It's now twelve yeas later and Madison is having nightmares about a serial killer that is stalking women, she feels the womans terror but can't quite see the killers face. Kyle Montgomery, who was once Madison's step-brother is an FBI agent sent to Florida on this case. Can they both forget about the past? Will the do anything about the attraction that was always there? Most importantly can Kyle keep Madison safe from the ...more

Good thing it only cost me 80 cents on Kobo! It wasn't horrible but I'm such a fan of Graham's that this one fell way short! Decent murder mystery plot but also nothing new from her. Great chemistry between the main couple but keeping track of all the couples got to feeling a little manic and I could've gone with a lot less repeated mentions that Madison and Kyle grew up together as stepbrother and stepsister. It added an ick factor that might not have been there had it not been discussed so muc ...more

Madison dreamed about seeing how her mother was killed but could never identify the killer. Her stepbrother, Kyle, who also was an FBI agent and Madison put their heads together to try to solve this mystery.
The killer was right before her eyes but didn't realize it until it was almost too late.
Kyle and Madison became very close but how close would they become? Would ther be a happily ever after?

Great story. It did contain the obligatory red-head victims that Heather Graham prefers, but the mystery wasn't predictable. I was guessing until the end and statisfied with the resolution.

I have to say this book pulled me in from the first page. Madison wakes to hear a different type of fighting than usual, between her mother and a strange evil voice filled with hate. Her mother is famous, a star, and a beauty, but can also be selfish, and controlling. Her stepfather Roger isn't home, as she slowly creeps to her mother's door. She can hear her pleading , and see the butcher knife, and she feels as it tears into her mother, and then she screams...The visions that started with that ...more

Heather Graham Possezzere has written a great many books under both Heather Graham and HG Possezzere. Most are a great beach
Read or airplane read. If Looks Could Kill was pub in 1997, which is probably how I missed it.
Murder, romance, death, mixed families, and more murders. Madison Adair was in the house the night her mother was killed. Madison woke and in her head she could hear the argument from her mother's bedroom. It did not sound like her stepfather. She tried to walk down the hall but co

This was a fast read, but I felt it was too fast of a read because it moved too quickly and could have been written in more detail and depth. You really didn't get the sense of who the different characters were. They really had no depth and I just didn't feel the supposed overwhelming chemistry between Madison and Kyle and I can't say that I even really liked Kyle very much. He was overbearing most of the time and how can you like or respect a guy that had to get a woman drunk to trick her into ...more

I'm a huge fan of Heather Graham's. I got a chance her when the American Libraries Association annual conference was in New Orleans a few years ago. I enjoyed meeting her and should've gotten a picture of her and I while I was chatting to her.

With all that being said, I enjoyed the mystery part of the book. I found the love story part of it a bit disturbing though...former stepbrother and stepsister?! Well, I guess since they aren't biologically related, that should make it okay? I'm not so cer

There's a serial killer out there. One who was thought to have been locked up many years ago, when Madison was a teen and saw her mother killed. But, this killer is back out, and he has a pattern for women with red hair, beauty, rose tattoo with thorns. Looks like he may just be after her. Can't tell you or I will give it away. Also, you do find out that those who are close to you are not always who you thought they were. Not necessarily bad either. This suspense thriller had me a bit stumped fo ...more

I've always enjoyed this author & as usual this book was as well written as other books of hers have been. It's a good story, lots of moments where you think you know what's going on & then a twist at the end

Readable enough novel to pass some time. Romance with a mystery, though neither ever seems of much consequence. A vast plethora of characters, most of whom make little impact, was a drawback for me. Still, worth reading if sex-n-slashers is your thing.

The mystery plot was well done just wasn't a huge fan of the characters and constant reminder of interrelationships.
