I enjoyed this book immensely. Once I started reading I had a hard time putting it down and ended up reading the whole thing in one day. I'd probably have to say that this is my favorite of the series so far.

Series Note: This book is the third in the House of Pleasure series (historical erotic romance), but can likely be read as a stand-alone with no problems. There are some references to past events and characters, but the story is pretty independent. I believe there is also a cameo from a char

When I picked this one up I really had not idea what to expect and didn't realize it was book #3 in a series. I think it was fine to dive into book 3 It works as a stand alone.

My favorite part about this book was the romance between Helene and Phillip. I loved that they had a second chance at love. I was a little startled at the m/m scenes but I was okay with them and saw them as part of Phillips journey to rediscover himself after a horrible marriage.

I didn't give this one 5 stars because I f

The best in the series so far! I LOVED these characters; strong characters, great build up of personal history and interesting background history and setting; post french revolution. The characters had chemistry and passion and unlike the others, this was a very confident, assertive female lead in control of her own sexuality. I found it interesting how she came into the life of a Madame. Her history made for a much mroe sympathetic and strong character.

Its a HOT read!!! A++ reccomended.
Wow, I really enjoyed this part, more so than any of the others up to date (including the two novellas).

I wasn't really looking forward to delving deeper into Helene's story, but I found it to be fascinating and Philip going from dashing young lover to grumpy old widowed fart was a hoot.

I loved this book. Loved it.....loved it......loved it. I didn't want it to end, I couldn't put it down and the only reason I didn't read it in one sitting was because, you know, I have a job to go to.

Book 3 of this series tells the story of Madame Helene - who is the owner of the House of Pleasure. I love a good tortured hero. I also love a good tortured heroine. Fortunately for me, this book has both.

The book starts out with Helene, traveling alone from France to England to start a new life f

This was ok, but not as good as the first two books, Simply Sexual and Simply Sinful.

Philip was in India for awhile where he learned erotic delights. He returns to England where he meets and shows Helene what he knows. They fall in love at first sight, but Helene leaves him because his family arranged a marriage for him to another woman, and Helene refuses to be a mistress to him. She opens a private club for men – a house of pleasure. Years later, Philip’s wife dies. Philip inherits

I really did love this book Helen is so witty and sharp tongued that it makes for a great and funny read, Especially when the target of her tongue lashings were often Phillip. I think they make an amazing couple and he is definately her equal in the sense he would never give in to what she wants just because she wants it.

More complicated than the first two in the series, and in some respects better. It was not what I expected as it wasn't as erotic as the first two.

This was much more character development and history. I do like the real world problems and how the characters try to make them worse while claiming that they are just doing the best that they can.

I read this title for a couple of challenges this month. Lucky, lucky me! : ) Somehow I'd left this title on the back burner. I don't know how it didn't burn a hole thru my e-library in the meantime. Loved this story, the heroine was so worth the wait. There were glimpses of her in the 2 previous installments, I had no idea she was being set up for her own book. There was a lot of time and history covered in this read, flashbacks abound. Much of it I would consider dark, it did not take away fro ...more

This was another excellent addition to the House of Pleasure series. It was somewhat thicker in plot and had a little less action that previous books in the series but that didn't really diminish its appeal. This was a book that brought in aspects of the French Revolution nicely and gave light to some of the harsh realities of that time. It was very interesting to see how the House began and get to know the enigmatic character Madame Delornay and understand her history. This is an excellent read ...more

I really enjoyed this book. I began the series with this one and had no problem with the story, which was nice.

I really liked the hero and heroine in this one. Helene with her tragic past was a strong character, and I found Philip intriguing. There passionate encounter is absolutely hot, and I love that they get a 2nd chance at love. The dynamic between these two in wonderful, Philip and Helene are so passionate with each other, and I enjoyed watching Philip also rediscover himself.

I've tried twice now. Just can't get into this book. Nothing about this couple did it for me. Fifty pages in, I'm done.
Merak eden sorsun ;)

7 out of 10

This is my 7th (!) book in this series (including bonuses) and I'm still intrigued to continue with it.

First installments were very sex-centered, but I've seen their depth and wanted Kate Pearce to give me more of psychological side of her work. And here we are! I like how bold and thoughtful the author is, what kind of problems she does bring up, how she sees people's sexuality.

And I adore (yeah, I'm that perv) the idea of House of Pleasure. What a place! There's no prostitutio

My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed:

Over eighteen years ago, Helene Delornay and Philip Ross met on their way to new lives. When a carriage accident left them stranded at an inn, neither could resist the temptation the other presented. Long hours of passion connected Helene and Philip in ways they never expected. But Helene, who survived the worst horrors of the French Revolution only because she was traded to the guards at the B

Li o pr ...more

I tremendously enjoyed reading Madame Helene's story, it is a beautiful tragedy, a story of fate, desperation, triumph, betrayal, and eroticism. Those are just some of the few things one could find while reading this, it heightened my senses, really engaged me and made me wonder, and I admired Helene's character, she's one strong woman who did what was necessary to survive. Given what she went through at the tender age of 14, she's more practical than romantic. I can't help but feel for her, as ...more

Tough book, because it's difficult to know whether we like our Hero or not... until most of the way through the book. And because we skip a lot of time from the introductory chapters telling us how Madame Helene and Philip met to when they see each other again. There are a lot of gaps that we try to mentally fill in until the author finally starts doing it for us. Yet, the author is rather piece-meal about filling those gaps, and there are so many characters by then, it's tough to fig

What can I say about this book? I liked it but I wasn`t execited during the reading. Don`t get me wrong it`s great book but compered to the first two there were missing something. The sex scenes were hot (not as many and as fascinating as in the previous two ;)) and the story was interesting too.

The Simply Shameless is about Helene Delornay. The story begins when Helene is eighteen and she travels to London to start new life. During the journey she meets young and handsome Philip Ross who is als
Oh I absolutely loved this one, well most of it. So far it is my favorite of the series because it’s about Helene Delornay, the owner of the House of Pleasure.

When shamelessshe was just 18, Helene was already a hero but didnt see it. She gave birth at 15, gave her child in a nonnery and didnt abandon it, got the mistress of an old French lord. At 18 she travelled to London in a travel coach with a young man – Philip Ross, who just came back from India. He is entitled to marry because his brother

Man I cant this series seems to be getting better and better. I was super stoked Helene was getting her story and third in the series (yay) Helene is one bad ass female she's strong independent been thru hell and back and is an amazing woman and she deserves and amazing man. That's exactly what Phillip is, yea he has some issues to work thru but once he and herself work thru those issues HELLO!!!!

What I truly enjoyed about this book was the main characters banter they always kept each other on

What a remarkable book this one is! Ergo, five stars are given to this book. I agreed with others who had read this book that the story is so, so great and it's the best too! Much better than the previous two books.

I liked the beginning of this book where Helene and Philip met for the first time. The instant spark of love happened between them. Although the event was short, it was so romantic and filled with so much love. I awed. However, these two separated. When two were meant together, they

I think my problem with Book 3 in the series is that in order to enjoy each book and its story in its own right, one should NOT read them in succession but take lengthy breaks in between.

Pearce uses a lot of recurring tropes and themes and when reading in succession, it begins to feel like every storyline bleeds into the others and everything becomes muddled. Instead of feeling titillated by Helene and Phillip's story, I felt jaded half way through and couldn't fully appreciate that Pearce was
