Sticks & Stones is the second book in the exciting M/M Romantic Suspense series, Cut & Run. In this installment, having been given mandatory 'vacation time' to rid themselves of the lingering effects of the horrific serial killer case they’d worked on previously, Ty and Zane head to Ty’s hometown in West Virginia. Along with his father Earl, brother Deacon and Zane, the four men set out on what was supposed to be a recreational few days of hiking through the mountains that instead turned More...

Oh, these guys are definitely growing on me, although slowly, because they refuse to go at my pace and insist on taking their ever loving time admitting any real feelings for each other – sheesh!

I liked the change in the storyline as compared to the first book. In this one, all the action takes place while the guys are away from work and supposedly on vacation, although that word “vacation” has come to take on an evil connotation! They visit Ty’s family and go hiking/camping in t More...

Sticks & Stones (second book in the Cut & Run series) finds Ty and Zane taking a forced vacation in the mountains of West Virginia as they recuperate from the missions that took them away from each other after the serial killer case in NY. Under instructions that it's time to go home, Ty brings Zane with him to run interference and, more likely, to see how Zane handles Ty's mom, dad, and brother Deuce. While Ty's brother is aware of the personal relationship the two have, neither of Ty's parents More...

With a title like Sticks & Stones, I'm reminded of a little phrase I learned as a child. "Sticks & stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me". I would like to know who came up with this little saying because I want to hit them with sticks and stones. I've found this phrase to be a lie. In this story, I believe my feelings are validated by what is said to Ty.

Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are back together again. Except these two special agents are benched until t More...

Can two guys really be so dense? Can two guys, who are so evidently absolutely crazy about each other get so tongue-tied? Can two guys who are trained observers of human behaviour misread each other so completely that you feel like whacking them over the head with a two-by-four, to get them to see what’s really going on?

Deliciously exasperating is how I would describe how Zane and Ty are with each other. In the first book, Cut & Run, I found their mutual cluelessness growing a lit More...

It's been 6 months since Zane and Ty's last case and boy are our boys messed up. After all the trauma of the first book, Zane and Ty's partnership is back together, but Zane failed his psych eval that would put them back on the street instead of being desk jockeys. They are both given forced vacation in order to get their act together and they decide to take a trip back to West Virginia to visit Ty's family. Ty's family is very interesting. Deacon "Deuce" is Ty's brother and they ar More...

4.5 stars.

I have to confess that I wasn't very thrilled about picking up this sequel for a couple of reasons: first, FBI agents going on vacation and facing all kind of dangers seemed not interesting, I was afraid it would be some kind of follow-up to cash in on a very promising first book of a series, but with not enough meat; second, the relationship between the main characters in the first book was so confrontational that it was exhausting, so I was worried it would be too tense. You CAN'T Get Any Better Than Ty and Zane!
If you're a fan of m/m romantic thrillers/suspense, then you can't beat the writing pair of Urban and Roux for incredible fiction, and in Sticks & Stones, the sequel to one of my favorite reads of 2009, Cut & Run, the irresistible and at times irascible FBI Special Agents Zane Garrett and Ty Grady are back with a vengeance. They're still toting around all sorts of personal and professional baggage and struggling with the aftereffects of a c More...

I had high hopes for this book after reading the reviews, but just couldn't give it those same high marks. I thought the story was just pretty dumb and very unrealistic.

I have to say that after almost 800 pages, Ty and Zane just haven't gotten very far. There has been lots of action, lots of running around lots of POVs from different characters. We've gotten to meet Ty's parents and his brother. His mom is a sweetheart. His brother loves him. His father is somewhat of a jerk. More...

What could I say? I was a sucker for drama and angst, and this book get lot of it. Despite the setting is quite hyperbole--I mean, after you save from grenade shower, found that your trail blocked by a sudden harsh river, and then you met a huge cat?--the romance through it all was just beautiful, and it's make me love Ty and Zane more--and their denseness toward each other.

There's more stability in the POV than the previous book, but it still jumping to a different head other than Ty' More...

3.5 stars - Much more fluid than the last book in regards to POV switching, but personally, I just don't prefer the 3rd person omniscient when reading suspense. I'd rather not waste time hopping into the killer's mind - lay it out for me - they don't add much to the story.

I love the addition of Ty's parents and brother, though the dad single-handedly created the dilemma of book 2, nearly killing them all during the hike. Speaking of, they should not have survived the trip. No evil capt More...

I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. I really liked that there seemed to be less POV switches that were distracting and sometimes confusing in the first one.

This book seemed to focus more on Ty and Zane as characters and their relationship than the first one. They continue to grow closer, even when thrown into another dangerous situation. I really enjoyed that much of it took place with Ty's family and shows some of the reason why he is who he is. I saw a review describing th More...

I had high hopes for this because I enjoyed Warrior's Cross so much.

At first, I thought those high hopes were going to be dashed. I didn't like the beginning. I won't spoil the first chapter's conclusion; I just thought it was a little bit of a cheap ploy that the authors didn't need to resort to because they do action/drama/tension extremely well. Some of the dislike is on me-- it's the second book in a series. I haven't read the first. I like the authors well enough from earlier re More...

Six months after nearly losing their lives to a serial killer in New York City, FBI Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are suffering through something almost as frightening: the monotony of desk duty. A fantastic follow up to Cut and Run. I particularly like how Urban and Roux show Zane and Ty as suffering psychological issues from the events of Cut and Run which would have rattled even the best of FBI agents. I also adored the slow development of their relationship in this book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series! I totally wasn't supposed to re-read this all last night, but despite knowing how it went I couldn't put the damn kindle down!

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”

3.5 stars.

I rounded up to four stars because Ty and Zane are just great! Again, loved all those witty dialogs and I really liked Ty’s brother Deacon (Deuce)! However, I had a huge problem with Ty’s father, Earl. He is such a stupid jerk! And I had issues with the plot. When I was 46 % done with Sticks & Stones I got rather annoyed. In fact, Ty’s father was causing a substantial clusterfuck. He insulted h More...

I really like this series. This review will probably have more of the same as my review of the first book but there are some things specific to this book that I want to comment on.

To start with, Ty's family is fantastic. Zane may keep commenting on how crazy things are there, but really, Ty's family made me think of my family. Not exactly the same - I'm pretty sure none of us has ever attacked a hose with a shovel (oh goodness that was hilarious) - but the general feeling of seemingly More...

Sticks and Stones was a fabulous sequel to Cut & Run. Ty and Zane have quickly become another two of my favorite m/m characters. In this book we learn a bit more about them and we meet Ty's family. Zane and Ty, individually, are struggling with the feelings they have for each other and neither of them will admit to the other that they feel more than the friends with benefits they've agreed on. They have to "hide" what they are to each other with Ty's family-with the exception of Ty's More...

This book begins a while after where the first book ended. Ty and Zane have recovered physically from the events but not mentally. Both of them have been put on desk jobs, but neither of them are doing well...Zane is clamming up and Ty is pulling away, both of them have mental scars that they refuse to deal with on their own. After both failing their mental evaluations they are sent on vacation and Ty decides to invite Zane to meet his family. On what is supposed to be a leisurely trek on the mo More...

Sticks and Stones brings Ty Grady and Zane Garrett back together after the climactic ending of the first book. The Bureau separated Ty and Zane for six months after their last assignment. The FBI dropped Zane back into a meat-grinder of an assignment in New Mexico and Ty spent much of his time recovering from their last encounter. When their boss, Dick Burns, calls them into his office to give them the negative results on their latest unofficial psych evals, he makes it clear that they’re out if More...

Sticks and Stones is the second book in the Cut and Run series. After the toll the murder case had on Ty and Zane, they were given a few weeks off to get their heads back together. They are both having trouble getting over the after effects and failing their psych evaluations. Ty invites Zane to go with him to his family's home in West Virginia. There we meet Ty's family and find out more about his childhood. I loved the family dynamics and seeing them all interact. There's the loving and More...

When I finished Cut & Run, I had real concerns about how where this series would go. Both the male leads were so damaged, I couldn't see how they could ever really get over their issues in a believable way. But in this book, I got my answer: they'll do it slowly, and with the unwavering support of each other.

It's only been a few weeks since Ty and Zane were reunited and neither has been cleared to return to the field. Their psych evaluations aren't where they need to be. So their bos More...

Damn! They still haven't said it to each other despite what happened on the mountains, shees! The only consolation I had was the knowledge that this time, it was acknowledged that Ty realized that he's capable of loving Zane and even went as far as admitting that he wanted Zane in his life. I guess that's as far as they're gonna get to saying "I love you"...for now. It's so frustrating that it makes me want to grab my hair and pull at it!

This is the second book in the Cut & Run series by Urban and Roux, featuring FBI agents, Ty Grady and Zane Garrett. In book 1, they commence their professional partnership and start having sex - it's not what either would call a relationship initially, but by the end, there is a hopeful HFN. I had some problems with the first book - I found it quite disjointed and the main characters spent a lot of time apart (of which I'm not a fan), but online friends I trust encouraged me to stick with the More...
