Caveats: I have not read the original Little Fears. I have not played this version. I just finished reading the book, having torn into it as soon as I could get one off the truck. I'd heard glowing things about the (out of print) original, and I knew that Blair was really enthused about the chance to fix things he felt hadn't gone well in the original.

If you're looking for a rules-light, simple game, this might be it. I'm glad to have the inspiration the book provided, but once players learn to game the belief system, it can be a bit one-sided for them. I'm considering continuing my story in Fate Core, once I can sorta figure out how to hack belief into that system, but I found it hard to make real challenges for my characters. I think my problem was relying on numbers, I'd be willing to give it another go with a different group, though. Very ...more

A great rpg about Monsters that are hidden to all but children. Think if Goonies were a horror story, or Monster Squad. Some dark themes and sound mechanics.
