I often don't just love everything in a parenting book (I've read several, especially before we had Noah, but I kind of like to glean a little from each one and tend to take a pretty balanced view - meaning I don't believe in magic formulas that work 100% of the time for everybody because every parent and child is so different.) But I really like this book... I liked it even more than Babywise for some reason (which doesn't totally make sense because it's the same heart value). At the Bible Sc...more

What a great book! I loved the whole concept of morals-based parenting and expecting your child to obey. Really, how difficult is this concept - I am the parent, you are the child! Biggest takeaway - don't give your child a command you do not intent for them to follow (and that you are not willing to enforce). The scheduling ideas are great, but who on earth has time for all of that stuff in one day - we have been doing a VERY modified version and it is working wonders - especially the consisten...more

I enjoyed this parenting book as I have the other ones in this series (Babywise, etc). They have some great tips on disciplining 1-2 year olds, and some good philosophy on parenting in general. With some of the tips, I initially thought, "yeah, right, that's not going to work", but have been pleasantly surprised that they do. But as with all parenting books, I have the same belief - don't be a slave to the book. Each child is different and unique, as is every family, and not every word...more

i eish this book was more cut and dry like Dr. Ezzo's Babywise. I really only skimmed through this book to not really take much information away from it. Perhaps, because I was looking for more information on Potty Training methods and Ezzo has a specific book for that, Pottywise. I will check out that one instead...

So far I am very pleased with the results. I took the advice that I thought might work for me and my child and left what I didn't care for. My son does so much better on a schedule and this series helps me to figure one out. I will definitely continue with the next book when he hits the appropriate age.

this series of books got me off to a good start to parenting. It made parenting fun and I did not encounter the terrible two's... though year three has brought plenty of challenges and now I'm digging around to read more to be shared with interested parties in the future :)

Again, the instruction manual for rasing self-confident, self-assured, and well-adjusted kids. I loved how he breaks down the day and the thought processes of kids and parents and gives you the sense of mind to make decisions based upon your family values.

i got this book from the library for the section on potty training (since maggie is 3 now, it's about time don't you think?) and i got some really good insight about how to potty train quickly. i am a fan of baby wise so i like this book.

Again, as with Babywise, certain aspects I don't agree with, but I like how they advise about the importance of structure and routines. By following even slightly it keeps your toddler busy and out of trouble. :)

Loved this book. I read it while I was nannying for a couple toddlers and it gave me lots of useful ools to help them learn and grow as well as help me to give them the type of structure that kept me sane;)

Again, I highly recommend these books, just be aware that it isn't going to be a good read. They take too long to explain their points, but I guess it is good for some people to have a lot of repetition.

I didn't feel like this helped me as much as Baby Wise but I really liked it. Maybe it's because Toddler's are more individuals and you cannot raise them "by the book." But it was helpful in a few areas.

This one is fabulous. I have re-read it more than the others. I really love how he talks about the importance of teaching values already. He also gave some great ideas for that.

This book was very helpful as I am nearing the toddler stage with Porter. I have already been doing some of the things they suggest and I do see a difference.

This book made me feel guilty for all the fun stuff I didn't do with my toddler while I was pregnant and sick and miserable.

I need to read this because Addison is really starting the tantrums full force. I may go get this tomorrow.

The closer I follow the suggestions in this book, the more productive of a parent I am.
