Do you know that feeling when you have just finished a book you adored but you just can't figure out how to express that on your review? Well that's exactly what happened to me but I'll do my best to try to explain it to you all.

This was my favorite book from this author, I even liked it more than the Chicago stars series and I already had adored that series, I gave 5 stars to most of the books in it. But it was so different this time. I couldn't put the book down, that's how FREAKIN More...

Wow, Wow and Wow!! I loooovvveeee this book!
This is exactly the kind of book that I dream so much...
As my 2nd book of SEP, after "Match me if you can", its far far better.
Funny (I Laugh a Lot!), intrigue premise of 6 months married in convenience, witty very witty dialogue.

I just say this is my fav Theme "Hate-turn-Love"... with a Cold, very Cold, mean, humorless, bad-tempered Hero, Alexander Markov is one of my best Hero (Oh! and he is also Russian! More...

5++++ Stars Contemporary Romance

This is the third time I have read this book, and I would have to say that the story of Alex and Daisy never gets old. Its a beautiful love story with a strong cast of characters, each playing a vital role to make this story a worthwhile read.

Alex Markov was rescued by Daisy’s father Max when he was twelve years old from the constant physical abuse he was facing under his uncle Sergey. Max had bought Alex from his uncle and seen to his ed More...

Daisy, a woman everyone takes to be a spoiled brat, marries a man her father picks out for her. It's either six months of marriage or jail and she picks the man.

The man in question is Alex Markov, a man raised as a circus performer, though he's moved on. He takes on a wife to repay the debt he feels he owes to the woman's father. He intends to give her a crash course in reality by taking her with him as a worker in the circus with which he occassionally performs.

Wow Oh Wow. Such a great read. I got half way through the book and so much had happened by that point I couldn't believe i had another 200pages to go. The last few chapters made me cry like a baby. I loved this story so much and Daisy was just so amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of Mr. Markov until the last half of the book. he just didn't seem good enough for Daisy. getting to know his background helped me understand him better and at that point I started liking him. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the animals More...

Ok so a book about a modern-day arranged marriage absolutely SHOULD NOT WORK! But alas, it does, and brilliantly. Throw in a traveling circus and a gorgeous Russian and you have one of the funniest, most outrageous romance novels you'll read. I loved it!

All the stars in the sky wouldn't suffice for this incredible book. This book was so good that I don't think I could ever enjoy reading any other romance book from now on. I kept holding myself from reading it, tried to delay finishing this breathtaking story just because I didn't want to put this book behind me but it was impossible to part with all that's happening in the book.

Alex was one brooding, arrogant and proud heartthrob while Daisy was sunshine and cuteness, opposites yet More...

***10/10/11-- listened to Kiss and Angel on audio narrated by the great Anna Fields. I'm always in awe of Field's narrative abilities, and she doesn't disappoint. Unfortunately, her great narration doesn't improve the rating on this book. Alex is a cold SOB, Daisy is too perfect, and the mystical bonding with the animals too contrived.***

SEP ran off to join the circus, or maybe she just let her imagination run away with her. Kiss An Angel was published in 1996, but feels like a much More...

I don’t like tortured heroes and I don’t like heroines who cry every second page. Alex is a tortured hero and Daisy cries a lot. I loved them anyway.

It was sweet love story, a little too sweet for my taste but it gets extra points with the help of a depressed gorilla, a baby elephant and a magnificent tiger.

A side note that doesn’t have to do with this book per se, but the entire genre: For the life of me, I can’t understand why every romance novel must end with the bi More...

I am a big SEP fan, and she is my normal go-to author for a quick, fun vacation read. I was looking forward to this on my recent trip, and I was greatly disappointed. It may be an early book of hers in which she was still trying to find her voice, but I found the characters two-dimensional and the love story completely unbelievable.

Kiss An Angel is my first read written by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. It was an interesting reading and I liked it, a LOT. Particularly the humour part, hilarious! Passion and romance between hero and heroine were great too -- true love, beautiful and wonderful. This book is heart-wrenching and yet there's heart-warming too.

I loved the characters especially Daisy. Despite her such upbringing and that she's very rich girl, pampered and spoiled, she's really not that kind of woman. She's a More...

F-ing amazing romance story with a dash of circus animals just for fun. Such great characters, Daisy was absolutely lovable, she is the alarmingly well-intentioned ditz who discovers her backbone of steel making her a woman you can also respect. And then there's Alex.. my my my.. firstly this alpha Russian hero thing is RIDICULOUS. Hes your typical romance hero- troubled childhood ergo he doesn't want kids cos he's scared of making his parent's mistakes. Stubborn as hell, not charming at all, en More...

Initially, I was very doubtful about reading this book. The whole spoiled, rich, heiress kind of thing doesn't really work for me. But, I wasn't even half way through the book and I couldn't stop reading. Two hours later, after putting the book down, I was thinking 'Oh my God!' The whole book has so many layers. It was in depth and captivating. Susan Elizabeth Phillips has really written it very well. All her charters were well developed and they never lost themselves.

My first non-Chicago-Stars book!

So this was my first choice .... out of a nice selection .... yet when I read the blurb my initial thought was "WTF??" But SEP pulled off a modern-day arranged marriage nicely, but not only that, it's all set in a circus.

Alex is the sexy Russian hero and Daisy's husband. He's got a lot of baggage to carry and again SEP did brilliantly to develop him from a seemingly straight laced, cold man who has a strong sense of honour and pride t More...

I bought this book for $1.99 yesterday from Barnes & Noble. I want my money back. Or at least the hours I spent reading it.

When I bought the book, I couldn't see the summary of the text, as BN was displaying information about a book by Eloisa James. However, having worked in a bookstore, I know how popular Phillips is, and I decided to give her a chance even though I had no idea what the book was about. Big mistake.

This trope is not my favorite but I thought this story was very well done and I really liked it. I loved this book! I resisted reading it for a long time because I thought the premise was weird, and it didn't see how the author could turn this into a convincing love story. I was wrong, and if you're wary of reading this book because of the setting, I'd encourage you to give it a try, because this became one of my favorite SEP books. More than any of her other books, you can see both characters grow throughout the novel. Each makes the other better, and both have some growing up to do.

Honestly, I read the plot for this one and I didn't think I could do it. The whole arranged marriage with some Russian dude? Really? I like my romances modern and I like 'em funny with characters that dig themselves into my heart. As much as I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips I let this one sit on my shelf for a very long time.

Kiss an Angel is a story about an illegitimate daughter, Daisy, and her rich father who doesn't really know her very well. After the death of her mother, Daisy runs up some huge bills and creditors are after her. Her father decides to help her but only if she marries the man of his choice who just happens to be Alex Markov. After the "wedding", Alex takes her to his job at a second rate circus in his run down truck and to his dilapidated, dirty trailer.

There was something about this book that made me feel both physically and mentally ill!
And I do not mean that it was ill-made, no, no, Susan turned out to be a brilliant writer.

It was just that they were something with how much she wanted to meet everyone's demands, just being a good person and do her best but was so badly treated that made me feel sick.

Because she was such a wonderful person and was so crushed, almost thought I would not be able to read it.

I think I finally understand why a lot people love SEPs' books. I didn't get it at first (back when I read Nobody's baby but mine), but after reading thru Dream a Little Dream and Kiss an Angel, I am happy to announce that I'm jumping aboard the fandom.
It's probably the way SEP characters are developed in the plot, they're so realistic that at some point you get aggravated by their behavior at a certain chapter.

When I started reading this book my mood was quite off but as soon as I started reading the story my mood was automatically boosted up. So I never understood how the H made things spontaneously combust.
Never understood why the h was bonding with the tiger (though, this exact occurrence has been my most fervent dream since I was very little)
I cringed a lot at the things the h said... a lot.
I intensely disliked the whiny, cowardly boss woman that got an hea.
And I generally disliked the H for most of the book.
